Savanna Orinoquía Lodge is a private luxury lodge located on the banks of the Cravo Sur River, at the Colombian Eastern plains.
This geographical region shared by Colombia and Venezuela is a collage of infinite plains around the Orinoco river’s basin, that shelters great biodiversity, and its residents have a deep cultural identity strongly attached to the natural environment, both wild and beautiful.
Agriculture and cattle breeding has been for many years the pillars of development in this region; the fertile and vast savannas constitute the habitat of thousands of heads of cattle that are skillfully bred by native herdsmen, whose traditions and customs are comparable to those of the North American cowboys or the pamperos and gauchos in the South.
With an average temperature of 26°C (78°F), this tropical region is famous for having changing ecosystems throughout the year since it has two seasons: rain (from April to October) and dry (from November to March), which is why the access roads are mostly unpaved and they can only be transited with wheel drive vehicles.
Included activities
- Nature walks: These are made along a totally tropical path, in the middle of a dense and wild forest, especially for encounters with wild flora and fauna. It is an ideal experience to blend in with the environment and also for a very special one to exercise on the go. It can be done bording the Caño or the River.

This is available always during rainy season, sometimes during dry depending on the level of the river.
