Private half day city tour:
Cosmopolitan and vibrant, Buenos Aires is a modern capital city with a distinctly European feel. There are many good museums, plenty of green open spaces and the architecture is striking. Away from the centre, several of the traditional neighbourhoods still remain. San Telmo has a quaint faded appeal with cobbled streets which really come alive on Sundays when the weekly antiques market is held. The area of La Boca, established by Italian immigrants, is well worth a visit to see the colourful buildings. Synonymous with Argentina, Eva Peron’s final resting place can be seen amongst the grand and ornate surroundings of the Recoleta Cemetery.
Private half day excursion to the Zanjón de Granados:
Today you will visit the ‘Zanjón de Granados’, a place of impressive historical value, full of myth and magic. Enjoy this journey back in time to the origins of the city. Visiting the Zanjon is taking a trip back to the city's past, making it possible to understand how the passing of time, along with its inhabitants, have left their mark on the walls and the depths of a buried canal beneath an old tenement house, and are now displayed on this site just waiting to be discovered.
Day at leisure - in the eveing enjoy a Dinner and Tango Show at Rojo Tango:
Tango originated in the 1880 ghettos which were populated by Italian and Spanish immigrants, Africans and gauchos. From this intersection rose the ‘Comrpraditos’, whose songs, lyrics, and dances reflect ‘el duelo de cuchilleros’, or knife fights characteristic of the social ambience. The tango rose from a mix of Cuban and Spanish rhythms, some polka, and according to some, also a bit of African music. Its lyrics, difficult to understand and impossible to translate, are profoundly poetic. Each song has a story to tell about the city, its history and its people. In spite of its humble origins in the ghettos and brothels, in the 1920’s, the tango rose to the salons of the upper classes.
Rojo Tango offers a spectacle of fascinating artistic madness that conquers the senses, combining movement, colour, sound, aromas and flavours. Each night the tango turns from its myth to transform itself in an intense reality through a live show, in which bodies are guided as if in a trance by the sounds of the bandoneon until they burst in an ecstasy of endless pleasure. The show is completed with a gastronomic treat with its own character, that favours the subtlety of aromas and textures, accompanied by the delicate taste of Baron B champagne. Around midnight, return to your hotel.
