Day 1: Nairobi National Park

Today, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our representatives and driven to your accommodation which is Emakoko Lodge, a boutique safari lodge in the Nairobi National Park so you are out of the hustle and bustle of Nairobi. Nairobi National Park is the only national park in the world which is surrounded by a city. Depending on when your flight arrives, alternative sightseeing such as the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage or the Giraffe Center, Karen Blixen Museum can be arranged.

Day 2: Loisaba Conservancy

This morning you will have an early start as you will be driven to Wilson Airport, Kenya's domestic airport hub where you will board a small safari plane which will fly you to the Loisaba region of Kenya.

Loisaba Conservancy is outstandingly beautiful, its abundant wildlife is truly wild and its accommodation is comfortable beyond measure. Loisaba is immense: bigger than ten of the world's fully-fledged nations. You could take months exploring this land and never encounter the same view twice. We can assure you that you will not bump into anyone else and you will see the most extraordinary natural wonders - spectacular animal life that is wild, free and exhilarating to observe and a kaleidoscopic variety of birds, both endemic and migratory.

Perched on the edge of an escarpment, Loisaba Tented Camp is designed to capitalize on unhindered views across Laikipia's mottled landscape all the way to Mt Kenya. All accommodations and main areas enjoy a breathtaking vantage point over an expansive panorama.

African-themed sophistication and style is the flavour of Loisaba Tented Camp. Spacious and airy tents are custom-built with large floor-to-ceiling doors and windows, high ceilings and polished wood floors. The tent suites are adorned in chic Africana furniture with a modern European twist.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of wildlife before stopping for sundowners and take in an incredible African sunset.

Day 3: Loisaba Conservancy

Your stay is designed to be restful, guests aren’t woken up at 5.30 / 6am for the first activity (unless they want to be) – instead you have a full nights sleep and have a private breakfast in your villa at the time of your choice and then do the morning private activity of your choice. This flexibility combined with unlimited spa treatments ensures guests relax in this stunning environment and leave revitalised!

Loisaba is made for adventure: guests enjoy complete freedom to choose how they spend their time so the only barrier is your own imagination. Trek through the bush with camels, mountain bike down the escarpment, raft, horseback-ride or drive through the wild canyons of the two great rivers that span the vast property.

One of the best ways to view the wildlife at Loisaba is on a game drive. Whether you go early in the morning or late afternoon, you own informative guide will take you in an open vehicle across the open plains, through the bush or along the river bank viewing the wide variety of game, birds, plants and trees. A true highlight however has to be going on a walking safari! You will be accompanied by traditional Samburu guides whose knowledge of local flora, fauna, cultural and history is unmatched.

You will stop off in a stunning location in the bush and enjoy a sumptuous bush breakfast.

Loisaba Conservancy has its own dedicated anti-poaching team, comprising of two sniffer dogs - Warrior and Machine - and their human handler team. Visit the team and learn about their day to day training and activities, and also view an anti-poaching demonstration in action.

Day 4: Laikipia

This morning you can enjoy a last game drive or relax in bed and have breakfast before you enjoy a walking safari. We love taking our guests on walks in the local area to get up close to all the action and learn about the smaller things that can be missed when you are in a car! We have an incredible number of elephant and wild dog sightings are very good. Guided by Samburu and Maasai warriors this is a very special journey into their ancient lands.

Opened in 2007 as Laikipia’s first lodge with private villas and are a pioneering example of sustainable tourism, community partnership and world class architecture. A total one off – there is nothing like it in Kenya.

This is a lodge that is proud to be different. The team, with the local communities, have proudly created, conserved and protected over 40,000 acres of pristine wilderness which means guests enjoy an area three times the size of Manhattan to explore privately at their leisure.

Day 5: Laikipia

We love taking our guests on walks in the local area to get up close to all the action and learn about the smaller things that can be missed when you are in a car!

A really fun activity, probably something that you wouldn’t expect to do in Kenya! You can quad bike from the lodge to the local Maasai village, technology meets tradition!

Day 6: Laikipia

Today, you may wish to pamper yourself!  Unlimited spa treatments  are included in the rates (what a winning formula!). Importantly, you are here to relax and recharge. A daily treatment will ensure you leave feeling much better than you arrived!

Perhaps a bit of yoga is what you want, and the setting could not be beaten! The incredible views we offer make us a perfect place for yoga. Gill’s yoga sessions are the perfect way to start or finish the day and she will tailor make them for everyone, beginners are always welcome!

All your meals at Ol Lentille are private giving you lots of special time to enjoy privacy and each others company. We like to make sure you eat in different places every night and have lots of signature dishes to impress you with.

Day 8: Masai Mara

This morning after breakfast, the lodge will advise what time your safari plane is coming to fetch you and whisk you away to the most iconic destination in Kenya - the Masai Mara!

Vintage luxury at it’s best, the award-winning Cottar’s 1920’s Safari Camp has its own 7000 acre private conservancy neighbouring the famous Maasai Mara Reserve in Kenya. It extends an era of luxury and quality and returns to the original spirit and essence of ‘safari’, providing the romance of safari
under cream canvas tents and offering an abundance of wildlife, a guarantee of privacy, and the highest standards of professional guiding in a luxurious and authentic environment.

You will be welcomed at the airstrip and enjoy your first game drive in the Masai Mara - if its migration season you may already have seen the iconic herds from the air!

Day 9: Masai Mara

Cottars 1920  guiding style is different from other safari operators in that they emphasize the quality not the quantity of the wilderness and wildlife, the emotional intelligence of the guide to become your friend in a short time, and to have guests appreciate and join the pace of the wilderness. You will set out on the private conservancy away from the crowds of tourists in the Masai Mara so that you can enjoy private wildlife sightings.

Day 10: Masai Mara

Today, a trip will be undertaken in the main Masai Mara reserve so that you can experience the wide open plains and all the wildlife which this region has to offer.

The quintessential Masai Mara safari delivers many attractions, as the reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including the more than two million wildebeest, zebras and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration. The reserve is a photographer’s and naturalist’s paradise, with abundant elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah alongside the migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently encountered, endangered black rhino hide in the dense thickets and large rafts of hippo and enormous crocodiles are found in the Mara River.
