Welcome and handover of travel documents
Starting from the vibrant capital of Windhoek, you embark on a scenic drive that takes you through the heart of the country into the mysterious Kalahari Desert. Along the way, a breathtaking panorama unfolds before you: gentle hills, wide open plains, and finally the iconic red sand dunes of the Kalahari. In the stillness of the desert—broken only by the soft whisper of the wind—you'll experience a profound sense of peace and authenticity. This journey is more than just a change of location; it’s an invitation to discover Namibia’s untouched nature and quiet wilderness with all your senses.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast early in the morning before continuing on to Sossusvlei. After your arrival, enjoy the spectacular landscape that surrounds your desert lodge. During your stay, you have the opportunity to visit the highest dune, Big Daddy, and Deadvlei, the most famous viewpoints in this region. Optionally and depending on what your accommodation offers, you can book a guided tour.
Continue on to your first destination on the coast, the charming port town of Swakopmund. Enjoy sightseeing and stop off at one of the town's coffee houses for coffee and a traditional homemade slice of cake. Typical Namibian hospitality, contrasted with the cool Atlantic breeze during a stroll along the beach, ensures an unforgettable stay.
Today you travel to the southern Kunene region of Namibia, also known as Damaraland. Once inhabited by hunters and later by Khoikhoi pastoralists, you will embark on a historical and cultural journey during your stay and be impressed by impressive artifacts.
You will spend the next few days extensively with spectacular game viewing in Etosha National Park. During an optional day game drive, explore the amazing wildlife from an open safari vehicle. Refreshments, snacks and entry to the national park are included. During your safari, learn many fascinating details about Etosha as a habitat. Alongside lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas, Etosha is home to one of the most stable black rhino populations in the world. The most famous Etosha Pan - a flat salt pan covering an area of 5,000 square kilometers - lies in the heart of the park.
Your last stop is Windhoek. During an optional city tour in the afternoon, you will explore some of the most important highlights of the former colonial city and delve into the city's modern history with sights such as the Tintenpalast, the Christuskirche, the old fortresses, the Imperial Secondary School and Heinitzburg and Sanderburg.
Drive to Hosea Kutako Airport and return your rental car.
