Day 7: Oudtshoorn

Travel towards the mountains to the small town of Oudtshoorn.

The route via the R62 is one of the most beautiful in the country. Take the time to look around here and there in the small villages! The ostrich farms are the biggest attraction of Oudtshoorn.

A visit to such a farm is very interesting and definitely worth it. The famous Cango Caves are also very impressive. Time permitting, a drive through the Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert is a wonderful way to explore the area, the views from the top are breathtaking!

Back via Meiringspoort this makes a very nice road trip for the day. You can order meal packages on the spot (or let us know in advance if you want this), or you can do your own shopping in Oudtshoorn.

Day 15: Swellendam

After Cape Town and Stellenbosch, Swellendam is the third oldest settlement in South Africa.

A number of buildings are built in Cape Dutch style, nice to look around and soak up some culture.

Swellendam located in the Western Cape is a nice town with a rich history and the third oldest city in the country, after Cape Town and Stellenbosch, founded in 1745. Explore the village on foot and view the beautiful old buildings at your leisure.

Swellendam is located in a beautiful green valley at the foot of the Langenberg Mountains, a small oasis in itself! It is a quiet town known for its berries, architecture and history.

Swellendam was once the last outpost of civilization in the east of the Western Cape and as a result it became a lively trading place. Now strategically located between Cape Town and George, it is a place frequented by tourists in transit.

Numerous coffee shops with cozy terraces, but also nice restaurants and small shops make your stay here more than pleasant.
