Days 1 - 4: Cape Town

WELCOME TO SOUTH AFRICA!

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will connect to your domestic flight to Cape Town.

On arrival at CPT, you will be greeted and taken by private road transfer to the iconic Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel, located in the heart of Cape Town and nestled right underneath the majestic Table Mountain; the perfect base from which to explore the city. The Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel (known locally as 'The Nellie') is steeped in Cape Town history, offers a choice of pools and world-class spa & is often frequented by the locals for their famous 'high tea'.

Enjoy a relaxing night's sleep. 

Day 2: The following day is a free day to relax and explore at your leisure. Enjoy the choice of pools, world-class spa and beautiful gardens, and the many boutique shops and restaurants within walking distance of your hotel.

During your stay the following private guided tours are included, with door to door service from your hotel and private luxury vehicles:

Day 3: Full Day Private Guided Tour of Table Mountain, Cape Town historic City & Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years, with prison tour - this is an unforgettable way to learn about the struggles of Apartheid and the plight of many South Africans which lead to where the country is today.

Day 4: Full Day Private Guided Tour of the Cape Peninsula to Cape Point (where the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic), including a Sea-Kayaking experience with the Penguin colony at Boulders Beach, visiting the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, driving the spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive, and more.

Dinner reservations can be made for you on request at Cape Town's sought-after restaurants to use at your choosing (dinner on own account). Transport will be arranged for you to and from the restaurants. 

Days 5 - 7: Franschhoek

After a leisurely breakfast in Cape Town you will be taken by private road transfer into the spectacular Cape Winelands. 

Arrive at the beautiful Boschendal Wine Estate. Enjoy a 3 night stay in your own private residence; Boschendal Mountain Villa.  The villa has 6 bedrooms and a private pool , lake and gardens. Hot and Cold breakfast is served in the villa.

Day 6: The following day is free to relax and explore the villa grounds and farm at your leisure. Included is a Complimentary Chocolate and Wine Pairing Tasting per person, together with complimentary Guided Farm Activities and access to mountain bike and hiking trails.

In the evening you can dine at Boschendal's Werf Restaurant, or reservations can be made for you externally at the restaurants of the Winelands. 

Day 7: The following morning you will be picked up early for your full day private guided family-friendly tour of the Cape Winelands, including cellar tours, wine-tastings and food-pairings. You will visit some of the finest wineries in the Cape Wine Region (Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl) with your expert wine guide; an opportunity to sample and learn about the award-winning vintages of the region and even meet the wine-makers themselves. Activities are also available for the kids, including grape juice tastings, jungle gyms and cheese-tastings. 

The rest of the time is yours to relax and explore at your leisure. The Winelands are famous for their world-class restaurants and we can arrange dinner reservations for you to use at your choosing (dinner to your own account).

Days 8 - 10: Grootbos Private Nature Reserve

This morning after breakfast in Cape Town you will depart by private road transfer to the Southern coast of South Africa (roughly a 2 hour drive), and to Hermanus, the whale-watching capital of Southern Africa.

Enjoy a 3 night stay at the beautiful Grootbos Forest Lodge, in the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. This magnificent coastal nature reserve offers a wealth of activities for the family to enjoy:

  • - Guided nature walks and hikes
  • - Horse-riding (beach and reserve) - for experienced and non-experienced riders
  • - Ancient cave experience
  • - Sundowners and nature drives on the reserve

October is whale season, and included is a whale watching boat trip, where you will not only have the chance to get up close and personal with this magnificent ocean giant, but also to learn about its natural history and conservation.

All meals are included during your stay. 

Days 11 - 13: Sabi Sand Nature Reserve

After breakfast at Grootbos this morning you will be collected early and taken back to Cape Town Airport. Here you will board your flight to Johannesburg. Here you will connect with your light aircraft charter in to the world-renowned Sabi Sands Private Reserve. 

On arrival at the airstrip you will be met and taken to the stunning Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge. 

This is one of the finest game viewing destinations in Southern Africa and is famous for its dense populations of Big Cats, making every game drive an exhilarating experience you will remember forever.

Enjoy a 3 night stay at Chitwa Chitwa, a beautiful luxury lodge in the heart of its own private concession. Your suites feature their own private plunge pools.

All meals, house drinks and safari activities are included during your stay. Your safari schedule will be explained on arrival, but you will enjoy twice-daily game drives together as a family out on the reserve, at sunrise and at sunset, when the animals are at their most active. Nature walks are also included to experience nature on foot. Coffee and snacks are served before sunrise game drive and a breakfast feast will be waiting when you return. Lunch is enjoyed back at the lodge and before sunset game drive high tea is served. When you return from evening game drive an African dinner feast awaits you in a variety of settings, by firelight and under the stars.

During the middle of the day relax with a dip in the pool or perhaps a pampering spa treatment & for the kids, enjoy some junior ranger-training, insect hunts or learning ancient African wildlife tracking techniques!

Day 14: End of Itinerary

Today is departure day.

After morning game drive and breakfast you will be taken back to the airstrip, where you will board your short light aircraft transfer to Johannesburg with time to relax in the airline lounge.

At Johannesburg International Airport you will connect with your homeward travel (own arrangements).
