Day notes

On arrival in Victoria Falls, transfer to Ilala Lodge.

You will spend the next 4 nights at Ilala Lodge on a room and breakfast basis.

Ilala Lodge benefits from an extremely convenient location. Not only is Ilala the closest hotel to the Victoria Falls, it is also the closest to the banks, post office, and African craft village & curio shops.

There are two restaurants to choose from. The Palm Restaurant which serves breakfast and a la carte lunch and dinner menus and the casual, open air Kubika, a stir fry Mongolian theme restaurant, with a wide range of interesting dishes.

In addition there are two pubs and a swimming pool with a large wooden deck that overlooks the Victoria Falls National Park.

Whilst at the Ilala Lodge, you’ll be able to participate in a number of activities; at present we have included for you in the price:
-Flight of the Angels (15 min. helicopter flight over the Falls)
-Tram ride sun-downer experience at the 100+ year old bridge
-Dining experience on the Vic Falls steam-train

Other suggested activities that are not included are:
-Tour of the Falls (within walking distance of Ilala Lodge)
-Sunset Boat cruise on the Zambezi Explorer in Victoria Falls

Today you will depart Victoria Falls and head via light aircraft (The luggage restriction for the flight to Mana Pools is 15 kilograms per person in soft bags to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mana Pool, where you will have ample time to walk, fish, go on game drives and even canoe (canoeing is available via prior arrangement and only upon request).

You will be spending your overnight stay at Ruckomechi in a luxury tent. The family tent, comprises two adjoining tents each with its own bathroom. Ruckomechi Camp accommodates guests in ten spacious en-suite tents, all of which overlook the Zambezi River. Each tent has both indoor and outdoor showers. The central dining, bar, library and lounge areas face the escarpment; our environmental impact is lowered by low-level walkways and solar power for the whole camp. There is a separate deck with an infinity pool for swimming and sunbathing, and an inviting, cushion-strewn star gazing deck. The camp benefits from superb views of the mountains of Africa's Great Rift Valley across the river in Zambia. A favourite amongst guests is an outdoor 'bath-with-a-view' in a secluded, scenic spot. The albida trees dotted through camp are much loved by elephants for their tasty pods. There is also the chance of spotting packs of wild dogs in the area.

Whilst at Ruckomechi, you will have a private vehicle & guide for the entire duration of your stay.

Internet accessibility in Mana Pools and Hwange is close to none existent
Activities whilst in Mana Pools include:

-River activities

Today you will head to the largest National Park of Zimbabwe, Hwange. You will head to Hwange via light aircraft. Hwange is a superb place to spot game or to just enjoy being in the bush. In Hwange you will be staying Somalisa Acacia in tented accommodation on a fully inclusive basis.

Also whilst at Somalisa Acacia, you will be visiting the Painted Hunting Dog volunteer centre.

From Somalisa Acacia you will take a road transfer on a bus to the second largest city of Zimbabwe, Bulawayo. In Bulawayo you will be staying in Nesbitt Castle in double suite on a room and breakfast basis.

You will be flying from Bulawayo Airport to Harare International Airport where your hire car will be waiting for you at the airport – a Ford Ranger 4 x 4 hardtop form EuropCar. This includes the car-hire with an allocated mileage and 1 driver

Any mileage above 2,600 km is for the guests account at US$ 1.12 p.km and off-course the fuel / toll / fines are for their account.

Your overnight arrangements will be at the Bronte Hotel in a superior double room and breakfast basis.

-Wild Is Life Animal Sanctuary experience in Harare

-Sunset experience at the Thetford Private Game Reserve in Harare (rhino protection program)

-Visit a cricket match in Harare (part of the culture and pride of the nation whether it is social or professional)

There is quite a strong Chinese and Indian community in Harare and their culinary expressions can be sampled in some very good restaurants.
