Day 1: Manggis

On arrival at Bali International Airport, you are met and assisted through Customs and Immigration.  Once through this process  you are transferred by private car to your accommodation - a drive of around 2 hours.

Day 2: Manggis

Today no activities have been planned and today is at your leisure to relax and enjoy your surrounds.  

Day 3: Manggis

Today you bike ride through the Bali countryside and the hillside villages. 

You are taken by car up to the start point, higher up in the hills.  You hop on your bikes and ride, mostly downhill, through the back roads and villages.  This is a gentle ride and allows you the opportunity to interact with the locals that you may encounter along the way.

You return to your accommodation around lunchtime and the afternoon is at your leisure.

Day 4: Manggis

Today you enjoy a hike through the rice paddies. 

This is an unforgettable countryside adventure with magnificent scenery, tropical vegetation and terraced rice paddies.  Your hike will end in the village of Tenganan where there is an opportunity to view and purchase traditional ikat woven materials, timber work/carvings, and other traditional artisan works - please make sure you take small cash if you wish to purchase anything.

You return to Amankila around lunchtime and the afternoon is at your leisure.

Day 5: Ubud

Transfer through the beautiful countryside to Ubud, the cultural heartbeat on Bali.

On arrival to Amandari you are escorted to your rooms and the afternoon is at your leisure.

Day 6: Ubud

This morning you will visit a local market.  This is a colourful, sensory experience.  You may wish to try some of the local street food delicacies while you are there.  Your guide will help you with these selections.

Later today you will join your guide for a walk along the Ayung River and down into the valley beside Amandari.  Once again you may have the opportunity to interact with the locals as they go about their daily life. 

Day 7: Ubud

Today you are joined by Dr Lawrence Blair (a walking encyclopedia on Indonesia). 

Lawrence and his brother Lorne, first travelled to Indonesia in 1972 on their quest to be the first people to film the Greater Bird of Paradise in colour.  Lawrence has lived in Bali for around 40 years.  He will be able to enlighten you as to the culture of the Balinese like no other.

You enjoy the day travelling with Lawrence around Bali.

This evening Lawrence will take you to view a private performance of the famous Kecak Fire Dance.  This is one of the most colourful and moving Balinese traditional dances.  Performed by around 100 male dancers and using only their chanting voices as accompaniment to the dance which reenacts the Ramayana.

Day 8: Labuan Bajo

Today you are transferred to the Denpasar Airport by private car.  You fly to the island of Flores and the bustling port town that is the hub to access Komodo National Park.

Fly from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo  - a flight suggestion will be made.

On arrival in Labuan Bajo you are met by staff from Bayview Gardens and transferred to your accommodation.  What remains of the afternoon is at your leisure.

If you enjoy Japanese food then, surprisingly, Labuan Bajo hosts one of the best and freshest seafood restaurants around  - The Happy Banana, and we suggest that you consider dining here tonight.  Please let us know if this might be your preference so we can make a reservation.  Alternatively, you can dine at Bayview Gardens (staff just need notice to cook - traditional Indonesian/Sulawesi fare) or there are plenty of Italian restaurants to choose from.   

Days 9 - 11: Samata Luxury Liveaboard

This morning staff from Samata will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to the harbour to marry up with your private charter.

Samata is a traditional phinisi, and your home for the next three nights, for your exploration of the wonders of Komodo.

The Cruise Director will sit down with you to discuss options for your cruise and dependent on the weather, tides and your interests, tailor an itinerary to suit.  

Day 12: Pecatu

Disembark Samata and fly to Denpasar.

Fly from Laban Bajo to Denpasar - a flight suggestion will be made.

On arrival in Denpasar you are met by a staff member from Alila and transfer to your stunning accommodation for the next 2 nights.

Day 13: Pecatu

No activities have been planned and today is at your leisure.

Day 14: End of Itinerary

You are transferred by private car to the Denpasar Airport and assisted with check-in and through the Customs process, and depart Bali.
