Day notes

The Laikipia wildlife area is a whole series of conservancies and ranches that are all focused on wildlife and how to manage this in conjunction with the local communities interests. It has been an amazing success story with a lot of positives for wildlife and communities. We will be here for 2 nights in the main tented camp - 1 night at the start and 1 at the end and in between we have two nights out walking with an armed ranger and  a small basic tented camp that will be set up at a new locality each day that we will be able to walk to.

This is a great area to look for, Wild Dogs all the big cats along with some different species like Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Grevy's Zebra, Dik Dik, and Jackson's Hartebeest.

Day notes

You fly from here down to the Masai Mara area. You will start in the Naboisho Conservancy which is all part of the Greater Masai Mara system. You will have two nights here enjoying game drives in this quality wildlife area that has a big reputation for great game viewing and a very comfortable intimate safari camp with only six tents. From here we will be able to do a combination of game drives, bush walks and night drives as well.

Day notes

Today we leave camp and walk through to our fly camp that will be set up in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy on route to our next safari camp. The team will go ahead and set everything up for you  and will discuss with you  how long or short we would like the walking part of this to be when you see what the wildlife is doing and what the focus should be for the day. If you did the whole walk you should be able to walk for approximately 20km's carrying your small day pack.

Day notes

You may want to have a quick game drive around the area of the camp in the morning before you continue your walk in the morning to reach your last camp, this walk is much shorter at about 6 to 7 kms. Kicheche Bush Camp is a beautiful camp that will be an excellent way to end your safari in Kenya. It has amazing wildlife and with few other camps in the area it will seem all very exclusive as you explore here either on foot or by game drive vehicle.  On my last visit here we had quality Lion, Cheetah and Leopard sightings along with excellent Hyena Den viewing.

Day notes

We will fly today from the Masai Mara through to Nairobi's domestic airport Wilson, and then from there you will have a road transfer across to the main airport for your International flights out. We can work out what is going to be the best plan in Nairobi when we have your flight times.
