Day 3: Santiago

Private half day Santiago city tour including San Cristóbal.
Start your tour at the main avenue Alameda Bernardo O’Higgins by visiting La Moneda, the Government Palace, where your guide will explain to you the historical and current importance of this place. Following this, enjoy a walk through the pedestrian streets of Huérfanos and Ahumada where the main commercial activity of the city is concentrated. Afterwards, visit the Plaza de Armas, which is surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral and other historical buildings. Continue the excursion by visiting Santa Lucia Hill, the mount upon which the Spanish founded Santiago in 1541. It is a lone steep rock, with many plants and an antique building rising steeply from the city below. Then, cross the river to visit Bellavista, the cultural and artistic neighbourhood of Santiago. Bellavista lies at the foot of the Metropolitan Park and San Cristóbal, the highest hill in town, to which you can go up and explore. Finally you will visit Providencia with its restaurants, elegant shops and modern high-rise buildings.

Day 4: San Pedro de Atacama

Your 3-night stay includes transfers between the hotel and Calama airport, American breakfast, lunch and dinner. Open bar including soft drinks, mineral water, juices, house wines, beer and spirits. Two half day or one full day excursion per day in small groups with other guests, accompanied by our English, Spanish and French speaking guides. Full use of all the hotel facilities including gardens, pools, saunas and Jacuzzis.
It does not include Spa treatments, bottles of wine ordered from the premium wine list, telephone calls and laundry.
 

Days 5 - 6: San Pedro de Atacama

Day at leisure. Activities are available from your hotel.

The high Altiplano of the Atacama Desert has rivers, green canyons, lakes, geysers, salt flats with flamingos, sand dunes and natural hot springs. The experienced guides at Tierra Atacama will be on hand to show you this unique and spectacular place through a range of exciting excursions.
More than eight volcanoes are visible from the hotel, two still active. Their peaks reach to a height of nearly 21,000ft. The Atacama Desert is one of the best places on the whole planet for stargazing, the night skies and the Milky Way in particular are truly unforgettable. The world's largest observatory and telescope are nearby high in the Chilean Altiplano.
The Altiplano is rich in species that have adapted to its extremes. Your guides will show you three varieties of flamingos, some with populations in the thousands, and many unusual birds including the Suri, Guayata, Tagua and a variety of ducks. Mammals that can be seen in Atacama include llamas, vicuñas and vizcachas.

Punta Arenas is a city near the tip of Chile's southernmost Patagonia region. Located on the Strait of Magellan, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It serves as a fantastic base from which to explore the surrounding stunning wilderness. The Plaza Muñoz Gamero has a memorial to explorer Ferdinand Magellan and the Museo Nao Victoria features a replica of one of his galleons.

Torres del Paine National Park and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is the centrepiece of Chilean Patagonia. Still largely undiscovered, Patagonia is a faraway place filled with spectacular flora and fauna as well as some of the most spectacular scenic beauty on the planet.
Torres del Paine National Park owes its awesome beauty to its four distinct ecosystems, the flora & fauna found in the park, and its wide variety of geological elements such as mountains, forests, pampas, glaciers, lakes, rivers and waterfalls. Starting with the mountains and peaks, be awed by the Torres del Paine towers, the Cuernos del Paine peaks and the great expanse of the Paine Massif. There are four glaciers within the park to discover, the Grey, Pingo, Frances and Dickson glaciers. The lakes of the Torres del Paine National Park include Sarmiento, where Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa is located, Pehoé, Nordenskjold, Pingo and Dickson, each with its unique beauty and vista. There are also numerous smaller lagoons to be discovered, including the tranquil Laguna Verde, Laguna Azul and Laguna Larga.
