Day 1: Windhoek

Day 1 – Arrival in Windhoek

Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you are warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your guesthouse in the quiet residential area of Avis, on the eastern outskirts of Windhoek.

After time to settle in and recover from your journey, enjoy a guided city tour of Namibia’s capital. In the evening, dinner is served at a local restaurant — perhaps an opportunity to sample one of Namibia’s renowned game dishes.

Day 2: Maltahohe

Day 2 – Into the Tsaris Mountains

Your camping adventure begins as you travel via Rehoboth towards the edge of the Namib Desert. Tsauchab River Camp is beautifully situated beneath large wild fig trees, offering magnificent views across the surrounding mountains.

The camp has a relaxed and characterful atmosphere, and nearby walking trails invite exploration. As night falls, enjoy your first evening under Namibia’s clear star-filled sky — far from artificial light and wonderfully tranquil.

Day 3: Sesriem

Day 3 – Naukluft Mountains & Sesriem

This morning offers time to explore the striking Naukluft landscape on foot. With your guide, walk through rugged gorges and across mountain ridges while enjoying sweeping views over the vast foothills of the Namib. With some luck, Hartmann’s mountain zebra may be sighted.

Later, continue to Sesriem. Your campsite lies within the park itself, with views towards the towering dunes to the west and the Naukluft Mountains to the east. Those who wish may visit Elim Dune or Sesriem Canyon in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Sesriem

Day 4 – Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

An early start takes you to the iconic dunes of Sossusvlei. In the soft morning light, the dunes display striking contrasts of gold, red and shadow.

A short walk leads into Deadvlei, where ancient camelthorn trees stand stark against the white clay pan. There is the opportunity to climb one of the towering dunes and take in panoramic views across this remarkable desert landscape.

On return to camp, there may be time to visit Sesriem Canyon if not done the previous day.

Day 5: Swakopmund

Day 5 – Across the Namib to Swakopmund

Today you travel north via Solitaire, where a stop for the famous apple pie is almost tradition. Crossing the Namib Desert, you pass the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse vast gravel plains.

Arriving in the coastal town of Swakopmund, the Atlantic Ocean provides a refreshing contrast to the desert heat. Dinner is enjoyed at a seaside restaurant.

Day 6: Swakopmund

Day 6 – Walvis Bay & Swakopmund

This morning, enjoy a boat excursion on the Walvis Bay Lagoon — either by catamaran or kayak. Large seal colonies are commonly seen, and dolphins, pelicans and flamingos are frequent visitors to the lagoon.

The afternoon is at leisure to explore Swakopmund’s historic streets, browse local shops or relax at one of its well-known cafés.

Day 7: Erongo Gebirge

Day 7 – Spitzkoppe & Erongo Mountains

Travelling inland, you pass the dramatic granite peaks of Spitzkoppe before reaching the Erongo Mountains.

Your campsite is beautifully nestled among impressive granite formations. The surrounding landscape invites exploration, and sunset often paints the rocks in warm hues — a perfect setting to enjoy a quiet drink.

Day 8: Erongo Gebirge

Day 8 – Erongo Exploration & Living Museum

Today is dedicated to exploring the Erongo region. The mountains are considered one of Namibia’s hidden gems, offering striking scenery and tranquillity.

A visit to the nearby Living Museum of the San provides insight into traditional San culture. Learn about survival skills, hunting techniques and the use of indigenous plants in this fascinating cultural encounter.

Day 9: Twyfelfontein

Day 9 – Twyfelfontein

Via the small town of Uis and with views of the Brandberg, Namibia’s highest mountain, you travel towards Twyfelfontein.

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein, home to one of Africa’s most important collections of ancient rock engravings.

Your campsite is beautifully positioned between granite domes, with private ablution facilities thoughtfully integrated into the rocks.

Day 10: Twyfelfontein

Day 10 – Desert-Adapted Elephants

Today you explore the dry riverbeds of the Huab and Aba Huab. These ephemeral rivers are home to desert-adapted elephants, and with some luck, sightings are possible.

The dramatic scenery of tall ana trees, camelthorn trees and wide sandy riverbeds makes for a memorable excursion.

Day 11: Etosha South

Day 11 – Etosha National Park

Your safari continues to Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s most renowned wildlife reserves. The vast Etosha Pan and surrounding waterholes attract a remarkable concentration of animals.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive or relax at camp before heading into the park.

Day 12: Etosha South

Day 12 – Etosha Game Viewing

Today is dedicated to exploring Etosha. Visiting various waterholes, you may encounter giraffe, zebra, kudu, springbok and, with luck, lion or elephant.

Your guide will plan the day to maximise wildlife viewing opportunities before returning to camp at sunset.

Day 13: Okonjima Nature Reserve

Day 13 – Okonjima Nature Reserve

Leaving Etosha behind, travel south to Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation. Set within a vast private reserve in the Omboroko Mountains, this area is known for its conservation work with leopard and hyena.

In the afternoon, participate in a guided game drive in search of leopard within the reserve.

Day 14: Greater Windhoek

Day 14 – Towards Windhoek

This morning, continue towards a private game reserve just outside Windhoek. The afternoon is at leisure to relax by the pool and reflect on the journey. An optional game drive may be arranged.

Day 15: End of Itinerary

Day 15 – Departure

After breakfast, your guide transfers you to Hosea Kutako International Airport for your onward flight.
