Day 1: Cape Town

Upon arrival in Cape Town you guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel for check in. After dropping your bags, you will head towards Table Mountain for a sunset picnic overlooking the city. A perfect way to start your visit to the city. Evening at leisure

Day 2: Cape Town

This is a day-tour perfect for the wine, gourmet & antique-lover, visiting Stellebosch and/or Franschoek & Paarl. Stellenbosch is South Africa’s second-oldest town & Franschhoek where the French Huguenots settled in 1688. These quaint towns clearly have history as you drive through & see how different they feel to any surrounding areas.

After discussing preferred tastes & getting an idea of the likes & dislikes of our guests, a plan of which estates to visit will be done; tastings can include pairings of cheese & wine, quality reds & whites as well as South Africa’s sparkling wine, Cap Classiques.

Spoil yourselves by indulging in a very special chocolate & wine tasting at the renowned Waterford wine estate, followed by a wine drive through the vineyards. The drive allows guests the opportunity to sit surrounded by the vineyards that produced the very wine being sipped on. (Additional cost)

In amongst the country’s finest gourmet regions lie award-winning restaurants galore. The perfect restaurant fit will be made by your guide according to what you have tasted & shown a liking to on the day.

Start the day with a visit to a local market (Saturdays) and experience a typical South Africans weekend morning out – the R44 Market offers live music and lots of food and goods to indulge in. (optional, no extra cost)

Day 3: Cape Town

Depart Cape Town along the Atlantic Seaboard through some of Cape Town’s beautiful seaside towns such as Sea Point, Camps Bay & Clifton. Magnificent photo opportunities arise as you pass by Llandudno through to Hout Bay; a small fishing town snugged into a bay of Rocky Mountains. Drive around the bay & through to Chapman’s Peak, one of the country’s most spectacular coastal sites as the sheer cliffs of the mountain meet the ocean. Further around the mountain as if appearing from no-where the longest beach in the Cape appears in front of you with spectacular views of these sandy shores.

As we enter the Cape of Good Hope National Park, nature becomes abundant with rocky shores, unique vegetation, indigenous birds & views to die for. Animals that call this park home are those such as Cape Mountain Zebra, Ostrich, Eland, Bontebok & Baboon. Once reaching the Point, choose to either climb or ride by funicular to where the lighthouse stands. With sandy white beaches & shipwrecks below the views of False Bay seem out of this world – this fairy-tale spot will have you captivated for at least an hour. On our way out, a must-see visit to the Cape of Good Hope allows another photo opportunity – the most South Western point of Africa.

Our lunch stop is something of gourmet theatre, an all-local seafood menu paired with some of South Africa’s finest wines; this decadent 3 hour lunch will have you dreaming of the flavours for days. If gourmet food is not your thing, no need to worry we have some other divine options situated in the harbour of Kalk Bay. (lunch at own account).

After lunch, visit the African Penguins at Boulders Beach & stroll through the naval village of Simonstown. Driving along the coast, direction Cape Town, take in the views of the ocean & seaside towns such as St James & Muizenberg.

A botanical enthusiast? Add in some time at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens – walk through the magnificent gardens set at foot of Table Mountain before finishing the day back in the city. In the summer months from November – March the botanical gardens hose various evening conserts where guests picnic on the grass and enjoy the live music. If this is of interest let us know and we can add this to the end of your day at an extra cost.

Start or end your day with a beautiful scenic helicopter flip over the Peninsula, giving you a bird’s eye view of where you will be driving through the day. (optional & at an extra cost)

Day 4: Whale Coast

Depart the city towards the seaside towns of Strand & Gordon’s Bay, nestled below the slopes of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, with magnificent views across False Bay to Cape Point in the distance.

Continue along the spectacular Marine Drive overlooking this rocky coast, past the white beaches of Koeël Bay & the villages of Rooiels, Pringle Bay & Betty’s Bay. Stop at the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, with its wealth of indigenous Fynbos plants, including the rare Red Disa, for a mountain walk to the waterfall at Disa Kloof.

Drive over the Bot River to the charming village of Hermanus, pausing in the picturesque Hemel-en-Arde valley whose cool, maritime climate favours the growing of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay grapes, found at acclaimed wine estates like Bouchard Finlayson, Hamilton Russell & Whalehaven. Hermanus is known for its abundant sightings of Southern Right Whales, which come in very close to shore to mate & calve (from June to November). There are excellent vantage points from cliff paths that run from one end of the town to the other.

Lunch at a popular seafood restaurant, browse the town’s craft markets, then head on to Stanford, just outside of Hermanus for check in at Mosaic Private Sanctuary.

This nature surrounded lodge offers beautiful lagoon views and all kind of activities that you can get involved in to enjoy the natural surroundings.

In the afternoon you will depart for a sand dune safari with a stop for sunset drinks overlooking the almost untouched beaches of Stanford and see the whales in the ocean (seasonal).
