Day 1 - 4

Mana Pools National Park

Day notes

Your mobile tented camp  will be set up in a private campsite on the edge of the Zambezi River in the heart of the Mana Pools flood plain area, so famous for its beauty and exceptional density of wild life.

The camp has large walk in safari tents - twin or double bedded - solar lighting - attached bathroom with flush toilet and suspended bucket shower system that has pre - heated water to your liking.

During the day we would typically set out at first light and look for an area that we may want to walk either because we have found tracks and signs or just a new area to explore. the key is that we remain flexible to adjust plans based on whatever sighting opportunities are around. We return to camp for lunch or have a picnic lunch and then based on your interests and what we saw in the morning we would make plans for the afternoon safari session. We return to camp in the late afternoon for a nice hot shower, cold drink around the campfire and a well prepared, hot meal either at the campfire or at the dining table.

Day 5 - 7

Mana Pools National Park

Day notes

From the flood plain area we would travel inland across the Zambezi Valley to Chitake Springs - a fascinating natural spring system that flows into the Chitake River bed providing an excellent source of water for the animals and birds in an otherwise dry area.

The camp here will use slightly smaller tents but still with en-suite facilities - this is because there is a very limited area for the camp and important the camp impacts as little as possible in this very sensitive area.

There are basically no game viewing roads in this area so our game viewing time is primarily done on foot ,so we would explore around the area walking and spend time just sitting in a hidden spot in the shade from various vantage points along the course of the water and see what happens. This area has a tremendous density of animals so there is a fairly steady stream of animals and birds through the day and night. Sometimes we can be quite close to the action, it is an amazing experience and quite unique.

Day notes

This is a luxury camp in a private concession areas on the Eastern boundary of Mana Pools. Being in private concession gives us greater flexibility with safari activities this includes night drives and also being able to be out on the river with their safari game viewing boats and you could even have a go at a bit of fishing if you like. This camp is in a beautiful locality for game viewing and stunning scenery which is  a great way to end  your Mana Pools safari experience.
