Day 1: San Jose

Upon arrival in Costa Rica once passing migrations, baggage claim and customs, you will get to the arrival exit where you will meet and greet with our representative (holding a sign bearing your name).

Our guide will check with you your travel details, in case there is any doubt and will provide you with transportation to your hotel. The drive from the airport to the hotel takes 25 minutes approximately.

Day 2: Bajos del Toro

Day 3: Bajos del Toro

Private Bajos del Toro Amarillo cultural tour.

Los Bajos de Toro Amarillo is a small and prosperous rural town, full of rich traditions, unique landscapes and fascinating flora. On this private tour, you will visit the Don Martin Porras orchid garden whose collection has more than 400 species, some of them with admirable forms and others of milimeter beauty that can only be appreciated with a magnifying glass. Then we will visit the school, the church, the soccer square and finally there will be a stop at the Doña Olga grocery store, where you will learn to make fresh tortillas and buy some traditional snacks from the town.

Day 4: Tenorio Volcano National Park

Private transfer Bajos del Toro - Rio Celeste Hideway. Transfer time and distance: 2 hours 45 minutes / 134 km approximately.

Tenorio Volcano National Park is a protected area located between the provinces of Guanacaste and Alajuela; besides some fumaroles, the Rio Celeste offers a spectacular waterfall with a unique colour, here is where the celestial coloration of the water occurs. The northern region is recommended for those who want to walk, explore and keep close contact with nature. You will also find more rustic accommodations than in other destinations.

Day 5: Tenorio Volcano National Park

The walk starts at the lodge at 8:00 am, until get to the park. Once in the park, the visitors continue hiking through the Humid Forest ecosystem where they will have the opportunity to observe different animal species as well as the beautiful and exuberant flora surrounding them.  Along the tour, visitors will have the chance to discover and explore the magnificent Rio Celeste Waterfall and the place where the river dyes itself into the characteristic and amazing light blue coloration. This hike is an excellent option to get closer to the natural Costa Rican beauties, and it is also a great way to take pictures and be surprised by the grand biodiversity of the area.

Duration: 4 to 5 hours approximately, for a total of 7 km.

Day 6: Rincon de la Vieja National Park

Rincon de la Vieja area, in the province of Guanacaste, is part of the dry forest and an important national park protected by the Costa Rican government;
the Rincon de la Vieja, is one of the most active and interesting volcanoes. It is close to Liberia, where the Daniel Oduber International Airport is found, and you can easily visit some of the best beaches in Costa Rica; there are also many things to discover as there are different activities to choose from, such as canopy, horseback riding, hiking, ATV, biking and trips to some impressive waterfalls in the area. It is highly recommended for those seeking adventure and an active trip while enjoying beautiful landscapes and the natural beauty of the country. It is also a place to relax, away from the hustle and bustle.

Day 7: Rincon de la Vieja National Park

Private hike to La Cangreja Waterfall - Rincon de Vieja

The only way to get to this waterfall is walking 3 miles (5km) to the national park. Along the trail, we can see a lot of wildlife such as white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys or spider monkeys, white-nosed coatis, armadillos, agoutis, iguanas and birds such as blue-crowned Motmots and emerald toucanet. The waterfall drops from 130 foot (40 meters) like a ribbon of white water coming out of the green forest and forming a clear blue pool at its base. The copper and other minerals thawed from the volcano give the water its azure blue color. A naturalist guide will bring a country lunch to enjoy a delicious picnic by the waterfall.

Day 8: Gulf of Papagayo
