Your guide will be welcoming you at the airport and take you to the accommodation in town. For this tour you have an option to self-drive. The rental vehicle will then be delivered to you in the next few days.
Cape Town has so much to see and to do! Visit the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, the historical inner city with the Company Gardens and the African Museum, the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, the harbour of Hout Bay and the beautiful Cape Peninsula with Cape of Good Hope and the penguins at Boulders Beach.

Leave Cape Town behind and travel along the spectacular coastal route towards the Whale Coast. Garden Lodge at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve was built with families in mind. Plettenberg Bay is overflowing with awe-inspiring sanctuaries. You could take part in the EcoKidz Family Challenge and meet some Eco-Catz at the Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre or go on a ‘Monkey Safari’ at Monkeyland, the world’s first free-roaming multi-species primate sanctuary which houses over 700 primates; admire more than 3,500 birds at Birds of Eden.
Travel to neighbouring Knysna, where fun activities await young and old. Visit the renowned Knysna Elephant Park, which has dedicated the past 20 years to rescuing abandoned and captive elephants. For a family lunch with a difference, join the John Benn, a double-decker floating restaurant offering lagoon cruises to the Knysna Heads. Alternatively, try a lunch or sunset cruise aboard the Paddle Cruiser, South Africa’s only paddle-driven vessel. For a fun day trip, catch the ferry across the lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, a spectacular Natural Heritage Site.

Shamwari is a natural extension of the Garden Route and has amazing wildlife experiences from game drives to walking safaris. Due to its location in the heart of the Eastern Cape, the reserve offers abundant wildlife, fauna and flora exclusive to the area and unforgettable encounters with nature.
Children from the age of four years old can join on game drives. With conservation at the heart of the reserve, guests are educated on all its conservation initiatives. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and Born Free Big Cat Sanctuaries are jewels to be discovered at Shamwari. The reserve is also home to a one of its kind Kids on Safari Adventure Centre. Enjoy a last morning game drive at Shamwari Private Game Reserve. Upon return to the lodge a hearty breakfast will be waiting. Then, it is time to pack your suitcases and say goodbye. Travel to Port Elizabeth Airport from where you catch a flight to Cape Town or Johannesburg and onwards home!
