Day 1: Diani Beach

Upon arrival in Kenya, you will be met by our customer service representative who will then assist you to your vehicle for the drive to your beach hotel.  Upon arrival enjoy a nonalcoholic welcome drink followed by a short briefing session on your vacation. You can then enjoy the resort or relax on the beach, enjoying a dip in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day 2: Diani Beach

Wake up to the sounds of the Indian Ocean for a relaxed breakfast at the main hotel restaurant. After breakfast, embark on excursion to Mombasa old Town and Fort Jesus on extra charge.

Optional Excursion: Fort Jesus

Fort Jesus is perhaps the most popular attraction in the Old Town. Constructed by the Portuguese between 1593 and 1596 and designed by an Italian architect, Cairati. Fort Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although it is partly damaged, Fort Jesus is a fine display of 16th-century Portuguese military architecture. Originally used by the Portuguese, the imposing structure rests upon a coral ridge at the entrance of the old town harbour, and its strategic location has resulted in many battles for its control. The site has also been used as soldier barracks and a prison before being obtained by the Trustees of the Kenya National Museum in 1958, and the on-site museum was opened in 1962. Enjoy the exhibition of the wide collection of ceramics and pottery reflecting the various cultures that traded along the coast. Within the compound are many fascinating battlements and derelict buildings including the Omani house, a building with Omani jewellery and displays on Swahili life.

After the fort, your guide leads you into alleys of Old Town, the original Mombasa city that was built in the 13th century and still maintains many significant architectural features of the time, such as filigree timber balconies, beautifully carved wooden doors, Indian and colonial designs and more than 20 mosques, and in 1985, the area received protected status as a conservation project to preserve the historically significant buildings.

Day 3: Ngutuni Wildlife Sanctuary

Today we will explore Ngutuni Sanctury / Tsavo East National Park, which together with Tsavo West forms Kenya's largest national park covering almost 22 000 km².  Named after the Tsavo River, which flows from west to east, the park is considered one of the strongholds of biodiversity in the world. It is a huge park and guests often have to exercise patience during game viewing, but the rewards are great. The experienced safari guides are familiar with game movements and the seasonal migration routes and times of wildlife in Tsavo. Some of Tsavo East's most popular attractions are Mudanda Rock, Yatta Plateau and Lugard Falls.

Day 4: Ngutuni Wildlife Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will spend the whole day exploring Tsavo on game drives in the park with a picnic lunch stop. The park is famous for its huge herds of elephants which often have a reddish appearance due to their habit of dust bathing in the reddish iron-rich earth that characterises the local area.

Day 5: Diani Beach

Today, we return to the beach.  Depart after breakfast to the coast and spend your day relaxing with various activities at your beach hotel such as enjoying a relaxing massage. If you are feeling more adventurous, book a kite surfing lesson or head out to explore the local reefs on a snorkelling excursion. If you are of a more gentle persuasion, perhaps a boat ride through the nearby mangrove forest to discover all the creatures that call it home may be of interest.

Day 6: Diani Beach

Optional Excursion: WASINI ISLAND

Pick up at your hotel at 07.00 am and drive to the historical small fishing village of Shimoni on the South Coast. You will drive through rural villages, passing tall palm trees and lush greenery. On arrival, a local guide will lead you through the Shimoni caves where slaves were “stored” during the old slave trading days before shipment to the Zanzibar slave market. Then you board a traditional Arab Dhow for a cruise to the Marine Park. As you sail out on the Indian Ocean, there is an approximately 90% chance to spot Dolphins. You snorkel and marvel at the rich marine life where corals, exotic fish and sea plants are protected. You are provided with masks and snorkels and are accompanied by a certified and experienced guide. Assistance is also provided to first-timers. Back on board, you can refresh yourself with fruits and soft drinks. Sail to Wasini Island, where a tropical seafood lunch is waiting for you. The four-course menu includes crab, fish, seaweed, and rice with coconut sauce. You can also opt for a chicken or vegetarian menu. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are included. The restaurant, built on coral architecture and located directly at the shores, overlooks the channel towards Shimoni. After lunch, you have the option to take a discovery stroll through the Island and its Swahili culture, visiting the beautiful coral garden and the mangrove forest. Alternatively, you can relax at the restaurant, enjoying the sea view and the breeze. Return to your hotel around 5 pm. (all activities and fees included)

Day 7: Diani Beach
