Private Guided Garden Route Tour

Welcome to South Africa!

Upon arrival in Port Elizabeth, you will be met by your German speaking tour guide and drive to Addo National Park. After checking in, you will take your first game drive in a tour vehicle through the park. The evening you are free to enjoy it at your leisure.

Today is dedicated to game viewing. You will go on a full day game drive in a tour vehicle. With a little luck you will see lions, buffalos, elephants and more. In the late afternoon you will return to your accommodation.

After breakfast you will leave Addo National Park and continue to Pumba Private Game Reserve. Once there, you will take part in your first game drive in an open safari vehicle already in the late afternoon. You will spend two nights at the lodge and have a total of 4 x game drives in an open safari vehicle included.

After the last early morning game drive and breakfast you will leave the Pumba Game Reserve and start your round trip along the Garden Route. Your first stop is in Plettenberg Bay.  On the way you will stop at the Tsitiskamma National Park and hike together with your guide over the Storms River Suspension Bridge. Arrival in Plettenberg Bay in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, drive to Knysna and join an excursion to Featherbed Nature Reserve. First you will take the ferry to the nature reserve and then drive with 4x4 vehicles and trailer to the top of the reserve. A beautiful view awaits you followed by an optional hike past a cave to the trailhead. After lunch, take the ferry back to Knysna. The trip takes about 4 hours. Afterwards you will have time at the Knysna Waterfront before returning to Plettenberg Bay in the late afternoon.

After breakfast you will leave Plettenberg Bay and drive over the beautiful Outeniqua Pass to the ostrich metropolis Oudtshoorn. You will visit an ostrich farm and the Cango Caves.

Today you will cross the spectacular Meiringspoort Gorge, which runs through the middle of the imposing Swartberg Mountains. On the way there is also the possibility to take a refreshing bath in the natural water pools with their waterfalls. Destination is the dreamy town of Prince Albert with its Cape Dutch and Victorian houses. In the late afternoon you return to Oudtshoorn.

Today you will leave Oudtshoorn for a full day excursion to Cape Agulhas. Cape Agulhas is not only the southernmost point, but also the official border between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean. The waters off the coast are shallow and are considered the best fishing grounds in South Africa. Worth seeing is the lighthouse from 1848, which has a range of almost 60 kilometers and - despite modern satellite navigation on today's ships - still performs its services. Afterwards you will continue to Hermanus where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Today is at your leisure in Hermanus. Enjoy the long sandy beach or walk along Walker Bay. Furthermore, it is worthwhile to visit one of the surrounding wineries together with your tour guide.

After breakfast you will leave Hermanus and drive to the university town of Stellenbosch. You will take a walk through the town and visit one of the surrounding wine estates where you will participate in a wine tasting. Afterwards you will drive to Cape Town where you will arrive in the late afternoon. The evening is at your leisure.

After breakfast you will be picked up again by your tour guide for a full day city tour. You will first take the cable car up Table Mountain. Afterwards you will drive past the Bo-Kaap, the Companies Garden and visit Signal Hill. You will also stop at the V&A Waterfront and visit Camps Bay. The evening you are free to enjoy at your leisure.

After breakfast, you will be picked up again by your guide for a full day excursion to the Cape of Good Hope. You will drive via Chapmans Peak Drive, one of the most beautiful coastal roads in South Africa to the Cape of Good Hope. Once there, hike up to the lighthouse and enjoy the view. Afterwards you will continue to Simons Town where you will visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. In the late afternoon you will return to your accommodation. Farewell to your guide. The evening is free to enjoy at your leisure.

Today it is unfortunately time to say goodbye. After breakfast you will have a transfer with an English-speaking driver to the airport in Cape Town and start your journey home. We hope that you had an unforgettable stay and look forward to welcoming you back to South Africa soon.
