Day 1: Cape Town

Upon arrival into Cape Town International Airport, you'll be met and transferred to Kensington Place nestled away in the greenhaven suburb of Higgovale.  Bask in the serenity of the manicured gardens or take a few laps in our plunge pool whilst enjoying world-renowned views of Table Mountain and the mother city.

Day 2: Cape Town

Pickup time at your hotel:  8:00 am (Duration 7 hours)

This morning you’ll be met at your hotel by your private guide and transferred to the cableway station for the ascent of Table Mountain in the 360 degree rotating aerial cable car.  Once on the summit you are free to walk around some of the trails giving you splendid views of the City and Atlantic Ocean.  There is also a curio shop and a café atop the mountain. 

After you descend, the tour takes you over the ‘Nek’, and down to the stunning Atlantic seaboard suburbs of Camps Bay, Clifton, and along the Sea Point promenade back to the City for a sightseeing tour which includes places of interests such as the Castle of Good Hope, built in the 1600’s as a replenishment station by the Dutch East India Company, the South Africa Museum, the Company Gardens, established way back in 1652, and the culturally rich Malay Quarter (known as Bo-Kaap).  A photo opportunity for a classic picture of Table Mountain from across the bay at the Milnerton Lighthouse is also possible, time-permitting, as well as a stop at the V&A Waterfront where you have the option of staying to explore this vibrant entertainment and shopping area (then making your own way back to your hotel) or being returned by your guide within the allotted tour time.

Day 3: Cape Town

Pickup time at your hotel:  8:00 am.  This tour can run in the opposite direction at the guide’s discretion, with your best interests in mind. (Duration 9 hours)

This morning you’ll be met at your hotel by your private guide who will show you the beautiful Cape Peninsula and the rugged Cape Point.  You’ll leave from the City along the Atlantic coastline via the scenic drive of Oudekraal, to Hout Bay, where an optional boat cruise (at own cost to be paid locally, and subject to favorable weather conditions), to Seal Island is possible.  This small island is a sanctuary for thousands of Cape Fur Seals and a variety of seabirds.  This portion of the trip lasts around 45 minutes and provides beautiful views of Hout Bay.

From here you’ll cross over the mountain by way of the spectacular Chapmans Peak drive (subject to the road being open) or via Constantia Nek and ‘Ou Kaapse Weg’ (the Old Cape Road) en-route to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.  Here you’ll have the option of using the funicular or walking up to the main viewing site.  Leaving this point, you’ll continue along the False Bay Coastline to visit the Jackass Penguin colony at Boulders Beach.  This route is an incredibly scenic drive through popular small villages including historic Simon’s Town, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay, with its harbor and quirky shops, and the surfers’ choice, Muizenberg. 

A lunch stop is made, either at Cape Point or in the village of Simons Town.  The final stop of the day is at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, after which you’ll be returned to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Cape Town

Pickup time at your hotel:  8:30 am (Duration 9 hours)

This morning you’ll be met at your hotel by your private guide, who will share with you a scenic excursion from Cape Town, as you explore the famous winelands of the Western Cape.  Beautiful valleys are filled with lush green vineyards, small pockets of rural villages all surrounded by rugged mountains, and historic estates dating back hundreds of years, producing world class wines.  On departure your guide will discuss the day’s routing with you, according to your preferences and the guide’s insights.  There are three principal wine regions to visit today: Paarl, nestled in the beautiful Drakenstein Valley and not far from the others, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, about 45 minutes’ drive from Cape Town. 

The name Paarl derives from the granite boulders that shine in the sunlight when the granite is moist, overlooking the town.  From Paarl, you’ll continue along the Berg River valley to the picturesque town of Franschhoek, where you’ll have the opportunity to walk through the quaint village.  The tour provides ample opportunity to see the fabulous Cape Dutch architecture and experience the surrounding wine areas.  There are over 300 wine estates in this region, and you’ll learn about the history of wine-making in the Western Cape, with visits to at least three estates for wine tastings and a cellar tour.  A suitable stop will also be made for you to enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant or street café. You can also visit the historic university town of Stellenbosch for an orientation of the town as you explore the surrounding wine producing areas.  You’ll be returned to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Days 5 - 7: MalaMala Game Reserve

This morning you'll be met at your hotel and transferred to Cape Town Airport for a scheduled flight to Skukuza Airport. Upon arrival you’ll be met and transferred to Mala Mala Camp offering an unrivalled view of the Sand River and surrounding bushveld. It is truly a place of legends where rare photographs, old maps and extraordinary mementos rub shoulders with the works of renowned contemporary wildlife artists.

Activities include early morning and late afternoon / evening game drives in an open safari vehicle, as well as guided nature walks.

Day 8: Johannesburg

Following a final morning game drive you'll be transferred by road to Skukuza Airportfor a scheduled flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival you'll be met and transferred by private vehicle to the Peech Hotel located in Melrose, a chic suburb of Joburg, The Peech is a true boutique hotel with bedrooms spread across lush gardens.

Day 9: Johannesburg

This morning you'll be met at your hotel and taken on a fascinating private tour (9 hours) starting with the suburbs of Houghton, Parktown and Hillbrow, a visit to Soccer City, and then on to the hustle and bustle of the downtown area before continuing on to Soweto (SOuth WEstern TOwnships) - one of South Africa's largest cities, to gain a personal insight and first-hand experience of this amazing metropolis.  The tour includes major points of interest, such as Chris Hani's home, Baragwanath Hospital, Baragwanath taxi rank, Freedom Square, Regina Mundi Church, Hector Petersen Memorial, Nelson Mandela's home and Winnie Madzikela - Mandela's home.

In the afternoon continue on to the Apartheid Museum, opened in 2002, where you embark on a historical voyage of discovery, a personal exploration of the past that examines the story of apartheid right up to the first democratic elections held in 1994.

Days 10 - 11: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

After breakfast you will be transferred by private vehicle to the airport for scheduled flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.  After clearing immigration and customs formalities you will be met and transferred to Old Drift Lodge situated upstream of the iconic Victoria Falls, on the banks of the Zambezi River. The lodge is overlooking the pristine Zambezi National Park within a wild paradise frequented by elephant, buffalo, herds of sable, eland, zebra, giraffe, kudu, waterbuck and impala.

Activities include open vehicle game drives and guided walking safaris in the Zambezi National Park and sunrise or sunset cruises on the magnificent Zambezi River. In addition, a guided tour of Victoria Falls is also included (Excluding the Rain Forest entry fee).

Day 12: End of Itinerary

After a final early morning activity you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport for a scheduled flight to Johannesburg.
