Day 1: Oudtshoorn

In the morning we leave Cape Town and head north along Route 62 towards Oudtshoorn. The change in environment is incredible, with rolling flats turning to mountain passes in 30 minutes. After an enjoyable lunch (own account) take in the beautiful views of the Tradouw Valley, you can follow this with a traditional witblitz tasting (own account) if you brave enough!

We then make our way to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world. There you can enjoy an ostrich tour (own account) and be introduced to the large, flightless and exotic ostrich. These odd birds have eyes larger than their brains, but are well adapted to the dry dusty conditions, and grow taller than most humans.
