What To Bring

Hat: Protect yourself from the intense African sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat. This will shield your face and neck from direct sunlight and help prevent sunburn.

Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen liberally before heading out on your day trip. Choose a high SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays, especially if you'll be spending extended periods outdoors.

Neutral Colour Clothing: Opt for lightweight, breathable clothing in neutral or earthy tones. Neutral colours help to blend in with the natural surroundings and are less likely to attract insects. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants can also provide additional protection from the sun and insects.

Camera: Capture the breathtaking beauty of Maun's landscapes and wildlife with a camera. Whether you prefer a DSLR camera or a smartphone with a high-quality camera, be sure to have it on hand to document your adventure and create lasting memories.

Binoculars: Enhance your wildlife viewing experience by bringing a pair of binoculars. Binoculars allow you to observe animals from a distance without disturbing them, providing a closer look at their behavior and natural habitats.

Comfortable Walking Shoes: Choose sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes or hiking boots for comfort and support during your day trip. You may encounter uneven terrain, sandy paths, or rocky surfaces, so it's essential to wear footwear that can withstand outdoor adventures.

Water Bottle: Stay hydrated throughout your day trip by bringing a refillable water bottle. It's important to drink plenty of water, especially in hot and arid environments like Maun, to prevent dehydration and maintain your energy levels.

Insect Repellent: Protect yourself from mosquitoes and other biting insects by applying insect repellent to exposed skin. Look for a repellent containing DEET or other effective ingredients to repel insects and reduce the risk of insect-borne diseases.

Daypack: Carry all your essentials in a lightweight, comfortable daypack. Choose a backpack with padded straps and multiple compartments to keep your belongings organized and easily accessible throughout the day.
