Day 1: Quilotoa Loop

Transfer to Isinliví, a charming Andean village surrounded by mountains and scenic landscapes. Spend the afternoon at leisure to relax, enjoy the views, and acclimatize to the altitude. Overnight at Llullu Llama Mountain Lodge, a cozy lodge immersed in nature.

Expert tips

Warm clothes (including hat, scarf and gloves), and waterproofs are recommended for this tour. Also, remember that it's important to drink lots of water and stay hydrated while at high altitude.

Day 2: Chugchilán

Transfer to Chugchilán, passing through picturesque valleys and rural communities. In the afternoon, enjoy a horseback riding experience through the surrounding Andean landscapes, visiting small villages and enjoying the fresh mountain air. Overnight in Chugchilán.

Day 3: End of Itinerary

Trek to the stunning Quilotoa Crater Lake, famous for its turquoise waters and breathtaking volcanic scenery. Afterward, visit a Tigua art workshop to learn about the traditional painting techniques of the region. In the afternoon, transfer back to Quito, where the tour comes to an end.

Expert tips

The village of Quilotoa is set at 3,800m so remember to stay hydrated throughout the day to help avoid the effects of the altitude. It can also be very windy and cold, so be prepared. In the Quilotoa community there are nice restaurants serving local food.
