The One Forty-Eight Giraffe Sanctuary Boutique Hotel is set in the tranquil suburb of Langata in Nairobi. This luxurious gem in Kenya borders the famous Giraffe Sanctuary to which transfers are available from the hotel. The One Forty-Eight Hotel consists of the Main House, where three bedrooms and a converted loft room are located, and Studio where another five rooms are available, namely three apartments and two studios. In the Main House, the downstairs living area is an open-plan space with a large fireplace. The veranda provides an ‘inside-outside’ feeling and is an ideal space for fresco dining, enjoining the leafy green surroundings or watching as warthogs, parrots, peacocks and monkeys roaming freely through the garden. The hotel provides delicious food and wine, in-room television with Wi-Fi and a boutique designer shop on site.

Set on the edge of a plain with long, panoramic views towards Mt Kenya and the Aberdare Range in the south'
Nyarara means 'cheetah' in Masai and the camp was given this name because cheetah are often seen in the area.
From this camp we walk out across large plains as well as mixed bush looking for herds of Common and Grevy’s zebra, Oryx and Grant’s gazelle and herds of Reticulated Giraffe which predominate on the large plains. In the mixed bush we find Dik Diks, Gerenuk, Impala and Lesser Kudu if we are lucky enough to see them.
Nyarara camp is a delight to the senses.

Our Luxury Walking Safaris with Camels offers a touch of extravagance to this already magical safari.
On this safari, your entire camp is moved daily as you sojourn through this pristine wilderness. Your team will comprise of camp staff, armed, professional guides and a caravan of camels 10-25 strong depending on the size of your group. The riding camels accompany you for your walk and can be ridden or simply carry refreshments for the morning.
Being away from the hustle and bustle of the safari circuit, this unique experience still offers you those lavish touches with a king size mattress and feather pillows. Our bedding comprises of 2 feather pillows, imported sheets and duvets as well as dressing gowns, towels, hot water bottles, solar lights and carpets. Literally everything apart from the four-poster bed!
Your accommodation is a spacious traditional, canvas tent with a chair, table, mirror, drinking water and a basin on the veranda. All carried by a friendly camel.
Bucket showers come with a good supply of hot water and each tent has it own toilet behind the tent.
For families with young children, we are happy to join two tents together creating a family unit so the children feel secure.
Meals are freshly prepared each day using a good range of healthy ingredients. Much of the produce is locally sourced and we can cater to any dietary request. Breakfast and dinner are served at the table, whereas lunch is an informal buffet-style affair.
Alcoholic refreshments include a selection of luxury beers, wines and spirits for those who love to toast the African sun as she sinks each day.

Set out in an open 4x4 safari vehicle in the company of your guide in search of the incredible wildlife in the Masai Mara. &Beyond’s professionally trained guides will ask you about your favorite wildlife and will do their best to ensure that your preferences are met, whether it is tracking a particular species or spending more time enjoying each sighting, getting to know the habits of the animals. They will also tell you about the vegetation of the region and will explain the behavior of the animals that you come across. In some cases, the guides will be able to identify individual animals and let you know about their history and habits. If the Great Migration is passing through the area, your guide will attempt to catch up with it and spend some time in the midst of the massed herds.
The andBeyond Kichwa Tembo concession is the only place where guests can experience night game drives in the Masai Mara. As the sun sinks over the vast horizon, the African bush comes to life with predators and other nocturnal creatures. Guests may have the opportunity to observe fascinating species not normally encountered in daylight.

Make the most the incredible scenery and views at andBeyond Kichwa Thembo by enjoying a guided walk. There are three walking routes to choose from, each exploring different areas and lasting approximately two hours. The Kichwa Nature Trail winds through riverine forest and follows the perimeter of Sabaringo Creek, home to fantastic birdlife. The Mara Hippo Trail offers an exciting opportunity to explore the wilderness on foot, through the plains, riverine forest, savannah grasslands and bush land surrounding the camp and on to the Mara River. The Oloololo Escarpment Trail leads from the camp to the top of the escarpment and boasts breathtaking views of the Mara reserve, the Mara river and riverine forest.
Enjoy sundowner cocktails at a breathtaking location on the famous Oloololo Escarpment. Watch as the sun sinks over a spectacular classical safari landscape from a vantage point that commands views over the entire Masai Mara.
