Shindzela, named after the honey badger in the Shangaan language, is a tented camp within the world-renowned Timbavati Private Game Reserve forming part of the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Our safari style tents are situated under thatch (grass roof) structures and can be made up in either twin or double-bedded accommodation. Enjoy your morning coffee on your wooden deck or freshen up in your semi open en-suite bathroom (shower, W.C. and hand-basin)

We strive to offer an affordable wildlife safari during which you can explore the African wilderness on game drives in open 4x4 vehicles (don’t forget your sunscreen) and/or on foot during a walking safari. Our safari activities are conducted by professional, knowledgeable and fully qualified guides.
The camp can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests in total, (8 safari tents) where you will be treated with our warm South African hospitality, a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy and soak up the true African wilderness,

Walking Trails at Shindzela Game Drives at Shindzela

Shindzela offers walking trails of about 2.5-3 hours in the morning instead of doing a game drive. Each walking trail is lead by a qualified lead and back up trails guide. The walking safaris are mainly focused on nature as a whole, focusing on fauna and flora as well as animal tracks, insects, bird life and the occasional encounter with one of the Big five. No children under the age of 16 years are allowed on these trails.

Shindzela offers morning and afternoon/evening game drives of about 3-3.5 hours. Shindzela conducts their safaris in 4x4 Landrover vehicles (seating 8 guests per vehicle max) and guests are taken out by professional qualified field guides. Prior to each safari activity guests are given a thorough safety briefing before embarking on their safari adventure.

Victoria Falls Rainbow hotel is within walking distance from the Victoria Falls, the town centre, the railway station as well as the commercial district. The Airport is roughly 25km from the hotel. This hotel offer attention to detail, personal service and offers the base from which to pursue adrenaline pumping sporting activities.

The lodge is located next to the Zambezi National Park and it’s possible to spot some hippos, crocodiles or game coming in for a drink from the rooms.

All rooms have air conditioning, colour television, computer hook up, telephone, ensuite bathrooms, with enclosed balconies. Suites have, in addition, a separate lounge, mini bar and another TV lounge. The hotel has 88 rooms in total.

The Hotel houses two dining experiences,
The Simujinga restaurant with its enticing African aura and blending in of Western & African cuisine and The Kraal Restaurant (Shop and Dine concept) - providing a more authentic Zimbabwean meal experience. Traditional shows ( traditional Ndebele Dancers and the Makishi from the Matonga tribe) depicting the original diversity of the Zimbabwean and Southern African culture.
