Ocean View House is a 4-star, family-run guest house located on the Bakoven side of Camps Bay opposite Bakoven's beautiful rocky beaches, ideal for travelers looking for peace and quiet. The guest house has large park-like gardens with 30 rooms spread across 4 houses with the most breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean spread out before you and the 12 Apostle Mountains standing watch behind you. Guests at Ocean View House are truly spoilt for choice, they can find peace under the ancient milkwood trees that shade the park-like gardens, relax at the sun-trapped pool deck or explore the mountain stream and koi ponds that dot the terrain or enjoy a swim in the solar-heated swimming pool. We are 1km from the Camps Bay restaurant strip, Theatre on the Bay and Camps Bay Beach, and is conveniently located 3km from Table Mountain and Lion's Head, 8km from the V&A Waterfront, and at the start of the scenic Cape Peninsula route to the Cape of Good Hope. We also offer guests free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and free secure parking. There is also an honesty bar by the pool - ideal to take in the beautiful sunsets and friendly staff at reception from 07:00 to 19:00 to help you with anything you need.
These individually contemporary decorated, air-conditioned rooms boast either ocean views from a private balcony or Juliette balcony, or garden and partial ocean views from a private terrace.
Bed configuration can be King, Queen or Twin.
Some rooms have bath tubs as well as showers. Baby cots can be added on request free of charge.

The Classic Rooms are also ideal for group or family bookings because up to 4 of these rooms can be allocated next to each other.

These comfortable, air-conditioned suites have all been refurbished in 2019 in a contemporary style with extra-length king size beds and private balconies or terraces with panoramic sea views.
Most of the bathrooms have a double vanity and separate showers and bath tubs. Certain Suites have kitchenettes, and baby cots or extra beds can be accommodated on request.
The popular Garden Suite boasts ocean views, and views of the 12 Apostles Mountain range and the mountain stream that runs through the Ocean View House. It is equipped with an extra-length king size bed, universal plug points, reading lights, desk, flat-screen smart TV, basic kitchenette and private bathroom with shower.
The suite offers a reading nook, deck area with outdoor furniture overlooking a koi pond, sun loungers in the garden and a day bed in the dressing area. The day bed can also be converted into a single bed for a child on request.
Nestled in the Milkwood trees, this suite features contemporary textures. It has a bedroom, a separate lounge and dining area, bathroom with shower, and 2 balconies. The basic kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, toaster and tea-and-coffee-making facilities.
The 71sqm Milkwood Suite is also ideal for a family because 2 extra single beds can be accommodated in the living room.
These top-floor 82 m² apartments have spectacular sea and mountain views and are individually designed in a contemporary and luxury style. The apartments have a large balcony with a 4-seater Jacuzzi, two sun loungers, 4-seater table and chairs, awning and Weber gas barbecue.
It is equipped with extra-length king size beds, night blind shutters and blackout curtains, dining table, desk, flat-screen TV and a music station with iPod docking, CD player and radio. The fully equipped kitchenette has a two-plate stovetop, full refrigerator with freezer, microwave and toaster. The bathrooms have a separate shower and bathtub and double vanity.

You can have breakfast or braai baskets brought to your cottage; or pick up some fresh farm produce at our Farmshop and Butchery and prepare in your cottage. The Retreat is a collection of eighteen two-bedroom self-catering cottages situated in a far corner of the farm with exquisite mountain views.
This secluded venue has a carefree and relaxed atmosphere and is ideal for families or groups of friends. The cottages are about 3,5 km from the main werf, guests are advised to have their own transport. If you are travelling with children take a look at our edu play centre - The Tree House, where free range kids learn all about farm life. The fully supervised daily programme is available for accommodation guests aged 5 - 14yrs.

A large verandah, outside dining under the oaks and an eco friendly swimming pool add to the relaxed feel of the property, which is a South African National Heritage Site.

Join us under the oak trees to taste a wide variety of Boschendal’s finest wines.
We also have delicious platters, featuring the best of our farm produce, to enjoy alongside your tasting. There’s no better place to spend the weekend than surrounded by lush greenery and magnificent mountain views of Drakenstein range. The Cellar Door is next to our Rhone Homestead and looks out over our Heritage Rose Garden.
The outdoor tasting area is set beneath a giant Oak tree giving you the quintessential Stellenbosch winelands experience.
Wine Tasting at The Werf:
Wine Tasting is now available on long tables under the oak trees in front of The Werf Restaurant and inside the old cellar building. Bottles available for purchase at Cellar Door prices to take away. Walk-in guests only. Farm plate menu is available to accompany wine tastings.

Kids aged 5 – 14 years have the chance to enjoy an authentic outdoor farm experience under the leadership and professional guidance of our Tree House team while you unwind.
With 2 hour morning, mid-day, afternoon as well as immersive full-day slots available, the Outdoor Experience focuses on delivering a captivating eco-edutainment that unpacks the joys of farm life.
The Kids Outdoor Experience is available daily for both in-house and day visitors.
Toddler Program now also offered 3-4 year olds 1hr slots in the morning 9-10 & afternoon 3-4 / Mon-Sun.
The Manor House doors have been opened to welcome an exciting and meaningful partnership with Brundyn Art. This new satellite gallery will feature the best of South African and African art with rotating exhibitions.
Work has been completed on a sensitive renovation and restoration of the historic Manor House. In consultation with specialists from Cape Heritage, Boschendal and its architect partners have made temporary changes to the Manor House’s interior because we want to accommodate the art displays and an anticipated increased footfall from visitors excited to see Brundyn art exhibitions at the farm.

Our well-loved and highly anticipated weekly Friday Night Market is back! We look forward to welcoming you back to balmy evenings, where you can expect live music, fresh farm produce, food stalls and other artisanal stands filled with handmade local products and a beautiful local is lekker vibe. Bring the family, four-footed members are also welcome as long as they are on a leash. Come live the farm under the starlight every Friday evening.

The Werf Restaurant is on presenting contemporary farm to table dining using the best available local, seasonal and ethically-sourced ingredients. 90% of our menu is produce from the farm including our Black Angus beef, forest reared pork and vegetables and herbs from The Werf Food Garden which can be viewed from the restaurant balcony.
Daily we serve breakfast and lunch and dinner as well as a selection of cakes and pastries made onsite.
As with all restaurants on the farm, the focus is on showcasing our farm produce and like-minded suppliers resulting in bistro style dishes that nourish the soul. Expect classics such as the Farmer’s Breakfast, juicy burger and for dinner, pizza from our wood fired oven.
Recline and reconnect under the trees of the Pavilion lawn, with our main farm to fork food hub close by and great kid adventure spots.
Dappled sunlight with a generous relaxed atmosphere set the scene for a relaxed affair with friends and family. Guests can choose between a table & chair (limited table seating available) or picnic blankets and lawn chair options upon booking. Guests are also welcome to bring their own blankets and chairs and enjoy a leisurely afternoon complemented by the best local, seasonal produce and treats packed for your indulgence.
The Tree House Playground and Pump Track is accessible from the picnic lawn for children aged 5 -14 years- do note that parental supervision is required.
Picnics are weather dependant. In case of rain, guests will have the option to either move their booking to a different date or take their basket as a takeaway.
The farm shop showcases an exclusive homeware range crafted by acclaimed local artisans and a fine selection of produce from local like-minded suppliers. The shop celebrates some of South Africa’s unique and budding designers, selected for their quality and attention to detail, and robust environmental values. You can now shop online as well.

De Hoop Collection offers a wide variety of accommodation from affordable self catering cottages to fully catered luxury suites. Few other reserves offer as complete an outdoor experience as De Hoop – sea, sand dunes, the vlei, a floral sensation of rare fynbos plants, diverse wildlife and the Potberg Mountains. Activities are diverse and guests choose between various day walks through the rich fynbos plains or along the deserted coastline, or mountain biking along the many gravel roads or scenic game drives. Lazing on the beach and snorkeling in the many turquoise rock pools is simply another way to pass a rewarding day. Day visitors welcome, and restaurant open daily.
The Opstal Manor House is a beautiful original home which has been restored to its former glory. the House is next to the Fig Tree Suite in the courtyard, close to the restaurant. Rooms are booked individually and include dinner and breakfast. There are no cooking facilities. The old kitchen is a feature of the house and has a fridge and coffee-and-tea-making facilities. There are 2 large suites and 1 small room. The small room is suitable for children only and is en-suite with a shower and toilet. The 2 large suites are also en-suite with bath and shower. The house also has a shared lounge with a lovely fireplace. Each rooms sleeps 2 pax. Serviced daily.
The Cloete Suites are next to the courtyard, within close proximity to the Fig Tree Restaurant. Two of the suites (1 & 2) have a view of the grasslands where bontebok, eland and mountain zebra amongst others can be seen grazing, while Cloete Suites 3 & 4 have a spectacular view of the old majestic fig trees in the courtyard. Each suite is beautifully decorated and has a seating area and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Cloete Suite 1 has a lovely fireplace for those chilly winter nights. All 4 suites have air-conditioners, bar fridges,mosquito nets and coffee & tea trays. Dinner and breakfast is included in the rate.
Cloete Suites 1 & 2 have a communal entrance for those wishing to share but have their own space. And Cloete Suites 3 & 4 also has a communal entrance. All suites can be accessed privately too, for those that prefer not the use the communal entrance. Each suite sleeps 2 pax. Serviced daily.
The air-conditioned Opstal Cloete Cottage is a suite situated between the Fig Tree and Cloete Suites. It is a lovely private suite and is only a short walk from the Fig Tree Restaurant. This suite sleeps 2 people and has one bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower & bath. Dinner and breakfast is included in the rate. The bed has a mosquito net and there is a bar fridge and coffee & tea tray available. Serviced daily.
The air-conditioned Figtree Suite is set in the courtyard with its magnificent Wild Fig Trees. It is between the Cloete Cottage and the Opstal Manor House. It has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower and sleeps 2 guests. The bed has a mosquito net and there is a bar fridge and coffee & tea tray available. Dinner and breakfast is included in the rate and the restaurant is only a short walk away. Serviced daily.
The Opstal Vlei Suite is air-conditioned and has a fantastic view of the vlei. The Luxury bedroom, sleeps 2 people and has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Dinner and breakfast is included in the rate and the restaurant is only a short walk away. The bed has a mosquito net and there is a bar fridge and coffee & tea tray available. This suite is next to the Stable Suite. Serviced daily.
The Opstal Stable Suite is smaller in size compared to the other suites. It is air-conditioned and sleeps 2 guests. The room has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Dinner and breakfast is included in the rate and it is only a short walk to the restaurant. The bed has a mosquito net and there is a bar fridge and coffee & tea tray available. The suite is set in the courtyard next to the Vlei Suite. Serviced daily.
The Dassie Suite has a fabulous view of the vlei. This Suite is perfectly positioned to view the birdlife and majestic sunsets from your veranda. The suite is air-conditioned, sleeps 2 guests and has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. There is a sitting area and cosy fireplace for winter. The bed has a mosquito net and there is a bar fridge and coffee & tea tray available. Dinner and breakfast is included in the rate and the restaurant is easy accessible. The suite is also close to the infinity swimming pool. Serviced daily.
The 3 Otter Suites are positioned close to the serene De Hoop Vlei. Otter Suite 1 has a view of the vlei from inside the unit. Each suite sleeps 2 guests and has air-conditioning. They have en-suite bathrooms with bath only and outside showers. The bed has a mosquito net and there is a bar fridge and coffee & tea tray available. Dinner and breakfast is included in the rate and the restaurant is a comfortable walk away. Serviced daily.
The De Mond Villa is at the mouth of the De Hoop Vlei, giving it specatular views of the Ramsar Site with its prolific birdlife. The unit has 5 en-suite bedrooms with 3 inside the house and 2 with outside access. There is a living room and dining area. The villa is off-the-grid and powered by a combination of gas and solar. There is wifi available and a private outside area with bbq and swimming pool.
Melkkamer Manor House is a majestic, old sand stone manor house overlooking the vlei. It has been beautifully restored to its former grandeur. This beautiful building has 4 en-suite bedrooms (bath and shower), a gorgeous large fully equipped kitchen (can seat up to 20 people) with open fire place, dining room and living room. There is wifi availabile and it also has an outside bbq area. The house has no electricity, is equipped with gas appliances and powered by a generator at pre-determined times.
The Melkkamer Vlei Cottage is one of 3 houses on the opposite side of the De Hoop Vlei. The lovely old stone cottage overlooks the stunning De Hoop vlei. It has four beautifully appointed bedrooms with 2 separate bathrooms. There is a sitting room, dining area with fully equipped kitchen with coffee & tea tray and a cosy fireplace. Paraffin lamplight and firelight add to the romance of the location, where there is no electricity. The house has gas geysers, fridge, oven, stove and heater. There is an outside braai/bbq area and the kitchen is fully equipped. The bathrooms have showers only. The unit sleeps 8 guests. Travelling to Melkkamer is either by a 10min boat ride across the vlei or a drive around the vlei which takes about 40mins.
There is a staff member that stays at Melkkamer and looks after the guests - from boat transfers across the vlei to overnight camera charging. Serviced daily.
The Melkkamer Foremans Cottage is one of 3 houses on the opposite side of the De Hoop Vlei. The cottage is charming and tucked away amongst the milkwood trees. It is a short walk from the vlei and the Melkkamer Manor House. It has three bedrooms, open plan sitting room with dining room and fully equipped kitchen and braai/bbq area. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee & tea tray. There is 1 bathroom with bath only and the house has an outside Shower. There is no electricity and all the appliances are powered by gas. There is a gas fridge, stove, oven, heater and geyser. The house is connected to a generator which is switched on at pre-determined times as discussed with the guests. Travelling to Melkkamer is either by a 10min boat ride across the vlei or a drive around the vlei which takes about 40mins.
There is a staff member that stays at Melkkamer and looks after the guests - from boat transfers across the vlei to overnight camera charging. Serviced daily.

A walking trail exploring coastal rock pools and sandy beaches while a qualified guide points out interesting marine life forms. The Fig Tree Restaurant
Situated in the main Opstal area, De Hoop Collection’s Fig Tree Restaurant offers day and overnight visitors a welcoming and comfortable setting in which to enjoy local culinary creations. The building that used to be a shed that was used by the farmer and later by the maintenance team of De Hoop Collection, has been renovated to a beautiful space with stunning views of the De Hoop Vlei. The silo behind ‘The Shed’ was cleverly transformed into ‘William’s Wine Cellar’, a round shaped space that is home to more than 3000 wines where you are invited to select a cultivar of your choice.

Just five minutes by car from the bustling restaurants, galleries, coffee shops and bars of Plettenberg Bay's Main street, The Robberg is a tranquil beachside haven. This understated, private retreat boasts 5-star luxury guesthouse accommodation with bed and breakfast facilities, and is ideally situated at Robberg’s beautiful Blue Flag Beach.
The Robberg Beach Lodge has two View Suites in Beachy Head Villa. These rooms have
wonderful views and spacious floor plans, with french doors opening onto a private balcony. The
rooms have a bath with separate shower, twin basins, heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee
making facilities (new Nespresso machines), as well as heating-cooling aircon and 40' flat-screen TVs.
The View Rooms at The Robberg overlook Plettenberg Bay's blue-flag swimming beach. The first-floor room and has a large bay window with mesmerizing sea views. The second-floor room has french doors opening onto a private balcony with great sea views. All rooms have a bath with separate shower, heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities, as well as heating-cooling aircon and flat-screen TV.
Our View Rooms are not suitable for children sharing: please book a Luxury Suite or View Suite if you are travelling with children and wish to share with them. All children are welcome at The Robberg Beach Lodge in our child-friendly Suites.
Our Luxury Suites all have private balconies overlooking gardens and extremely spacious bathrooms & floorplans. These suites are all child friendly, each with a queen-size sofa bed that can comfortably accommodate 2 children up to age 11 sharing with adults. All suites have bathrooms with separate showers, heated towel rails and double basins, heating/cooling air-conditioning, flat-screen TV with selected cable channels, and minibar and tea/coffee making facilities. If you are travelling with children, please let us know how old your children are so that we can arrange for the best accommodation arrangements for them.
All rooms have lovely garden views and spacious floorplans. Please see our website for specific details of each room. All Double/Twin rooms have separate bath and shower, with the exception of Cordovan Villa Room 4 which has a double-volume shower. All rooms offer heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities, as well as heating-cooling aircon and flat-screen TV. A mixture of cable internet and wifi is available in these rooms. All rooms have kingsize beds convertible to twins. Double/Twin Luxury Rooms are not suitable for children sharing: please book a Suite if you are travelling with children and wish to share with them: all our Suites are child-friendly.
Our two Cottage Suites are located on the first floor of the Cottage Pie building, set back from the main beach road in a quiet crescent. Both suites have very spacious floor plans and bathrooms with bath and separate shower. The Cottage Suites have cottage-style decor and wooden beamed ceilings, but offer the same modern conveniences as the other rooms: heating/cooling aircon, flat-screen TV & DSTV satellite channels, tea/coffee making facilities and minibar. This room is child-friendly.
The Cottage Standard Rooms are located in the peaceful Cottage Pie Villa, in a quiet crescent set back from the main beach road. The Standard Rooms offer a relaxed beach cottage-style decor and look onto garden courtyards or onto the private pool area at Cottage Pie. Standard Rooms offer shower bathrooms, with the exception of Standard Room 1 which also has a bath. Please see our website for specific features of each room. All Standard Rooms offer tea/coffee making facilities, minibar, heating/cooling aircon and flat-screen TV with a selection of DSTV channels. Wi-fi is available in these rooms. Robberg Beach, only a 2 minute walk from the lodge is popular for shore based dolphin and whale watching, striking views of Robberg Peninsula as well as lengthy strolls. This snow white sandy beach stretches for kilometres between the Robberg Peninsula and Beacon Island. The beach has lifesavers in season, ablution facilities, a deck, boardwalks and benches as well as chair and umbrella rentals and various parking spots.
Plettenberg Bay is home to two superb golf courses, both less than a fifteen-minute drive from The Robberg Beach Lodge. The signature Goose Valley and Turtle Creek course and the Plettenberg Bay Country Club course both offer unique golfing experiences in spectacular surroundings.
In addition, the Jack Niklaus signature course at Simola and the spectacular Pezula championship course are only a 30 minute drive away from the Robberg, in nearby Knysna. Robberg Nature Reserve offers great walking and hiking trails and is an excellent view site for cliff based whale and dolphin sightings. There are three circular walks of various lengths, caves, and extensive information about Robberg’s geology, archaeology and existing marine life. If you like to live on the wild side, then the Robberg Nature Reserve will appeal to you.
In early June, southern right whales leave their Antarctic feeding ground to frolic in the warm waters of the Cape coast.
Here they mate, calve and generally hang out, occasionally flopping a tail up, or sticking their heads out of the water to check out the humans.
Robberg House has 2 large viewing decks that offer out-of-this-world views, perfect for viewing the whales and dolphins in the bay.

Discretely tucked into a small forest on the river bank, each tented room has been designed with its own unique layout in order to avoid felling trees and to protect as much of the site as possible. A light and airy design lets nature’s sights and sounds flood into the generously proportioned guest areas, creating a sense of oneness with Nature. Ground level pathways and large fold-out sofa beds make River Camp particularly well-suited for those with children sharing with their parents. Located on an ancient floodplain where an oxbow will one day form, the Camp affords views of the river from its secluded decks.
Delicious buffet-style meals with an African twist are accompanied by award winning South African wine, served in the boma or under the star-studded sky. For those having a three-day stay, picnics may also be arranged out on the Reserve or at the pristine Blue Flag beach at the nearby village of Kenton-on-Sea.
