Hong Kong International Airport (airport code HKG) is the world's 10th busiest airport handling over 50 million passengers each year. It is located on the island of Chek Lap Kok, which largely comprises land reclaimed for the construction of the airport itself. The airport is also colloquially known as Chek Lap Kok Airport, to distinguish it from its predecessor, the closed Kai Tak Airport. Over 95 airlines operate flights to more than 160 locations worldwide including 45 destinations in mainland China. Opened in 1998, the airport has two terminals, 1 and 2. Hong Kong International Airport covers an area of 1,255 hectares (4.85 sq mi). The airport has a total of 66 boarding gates, with 66 jet bridge gates and seven virtual gates which are used as assembly points for passengers, who are then ferried to the aircraft by apron buses. Of the 66 jet bridges, five (Gates 15,23,60,62,64) are capable of handling the Airbus A380, the current users of which are Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qantas, British Airways, Asiana Airlines, and Air France.

About 32 kilometres from the central business district, the Airport Express Line has rail service that links directly to the business centre. Buses, taxis, ferries and coaches are also readily available. The Regal Airport Hotel is linked to Terminal 1 by covered walkway. In 2011, Hong Kong Airport was chosen by readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine as the "World's Best Airport."

Shanghai Pudong International Airport (airport code PVG) opened in 1999 and is already the world's 20th busiest airport and China's 3rd busiest, hosting over 40 million passengers annually. The airport is a hub for both Shanghai Airlines and China Eastern Airlines. The passenger complex consists of two terminals, T1 and T2, with a third terminal expected to open in 2015. There are two hotels on-site, the Ramada Pudong Airport Hotel and the JinjiangInn Pudong Airport Hotel. Located 30 kilometres southeast of the city centre, the airport is connected to the city by the Metro Line Subway system and the Shanghai Maglev High-speed Train, which takes less than eight minutes.

London Gatwick Airport (airport code LGW) is in Crawley, West Sussex and is the UK's 2nd largest airport, after Heathrow, and the busiest single-runway airport in the world. The airport is 29 miles south of central London and served by the Gatwick Express. Express tickets can be purchased in both terminals.
