Jump aboard our open safari-vehicles with our knowledgeable guides, either in the early mornings or late afternoon and discover animals species such as lions, elephants, cheetah, leopard, African wild dog, both black and white rhino as well as a host of general game.
Safaris typically last between 3 - 3.5 hours depending on the sightings during the course of the drive, and departure times vary according to the season.
The fee below includes a select sundowner drink and snacks.
Experience a day trip to the famed Kruger National Park, home to the Big-5, a multitude of plains game species, and a vast selection of fauna and flora, unique to the Lowveld.
You will be accompanied by one of our experienced guides, whose knowledge of the Kruger network and hot spots makes locating those elusive predators or rare game sightings a bit easier. There will be a few coffee stops, lunch breaks and a chance to use the rest rooms during the day; you may even take in a little retail therapy at one of the camp curio shops.
The record number of individual sightings in a single day by a Manor House guest has reached 26. Any guest who surpasses this tally will receive a special Khaya Ndlovu surprise!
Enjoy the splendor of the third largest Canyon in the world. Unquestionably being the largest 'green canyon' due to its lush subtropical foliage. An interpretation tour by a tour guide will take you to the you to the rare living Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. An abundance of wildlife will keep you distracted while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon.
The Blyde River canyon supports large diversity of life, including numerous fish and antelope species as well as Hippos and Crocodiles, primate species and a diversity of birdlife such as the African Fish Eagle, African Finfoot and much more.
Possibly the best view in the whole of the Blyde River Canyon is of the the "Three Rondavels", huge, round rocks, thought to be reminiscent of the houses or huts of the indigenous people, known as rondavels.
The Canyon is famous for the Kadishi Tufa waterfall. At 200m (around 660 feet) in height it is the second tallest tufa waterfall on earth. In the case of the Kadishi Tufa fall, the formation that has been produced strikingly resembles a face which is crying profusely, and is thus sometimes known as 'the weeping face of nature.
Experience the magic of lighter-than-air flight near the foot of the Drakensberg Escarpment. We offer one-hour long flights over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River, 15 km West of Hoedspruit. The terrain is a mixture of farmland, private nature reserves and wildlife estates. The mountains to the South and West provide shelter from the prevailing winds, thereby affording us good flying weather on most days. As the sun raises, the landscape, the vegetation and, if you're lucky, some wildlife will provide photo opportunities. Game spotting cannot be guaranteed but on most flights we see plains game like giraffe and wildebeest. On very calm days, we sometimes offer flights over the Kapama Nature Reserve, South-East of Hoedspruit.
Our pilots and crew will ensure a safe, enjoyable and informative adventure that will be one of the highlights of your visit to the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere. After the flight, guests making use of transfers will be returned to their respective lodges
Relax in the comfort of our air-conditioned bus whilst our knowledgeable guide takes you on a tour of South Africa’s scenic and spectacular panorama route.
Enjoy commanding mountain views and the spectacular Blyde River Canyon, one of the world’s largest green canyons.
You will visit the historical viewpoints such as the; Bourke’s Luck Potholes, The Three Rondavels, God’s Window and the Berlin Falls.
We usually stop for lunch at the famous Harrie's Pancakes in Graskop who have delicious sweet or savoury pancakes on offer.
The Kitchen @ Khaya Ndlovu
Owning a breath-taking view of the Klein Drakensberg mountains, the alfresco restaurant that operates from the decked terrace at the Khaya Ndlovu Safari Manor is the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal, high-tea, tapas, or sundowner. In fact, it is beyond compare!
The dining area overlooks a wetland that serves as a natural playground for many bird and game species, and it is not unusual for a visit to the restaurant to turn into an exciting game viewing experience. However, the territorial leopard tom, Xivati that reigns supreme at Khaya Ndlovu is inclined to disrupt the easy ambiance more than necessary, when he stops over for his version of a sundowner!
In addition to the delicious cuisine on offer, it is also about taking advantage of the beautiful lowveld weather, the peace and tranquility of the lush Khaya Ndlovu garden, the sparkling infinity pool and the romance of the filtered, shifting light that seeps onto the deck through the overhanging branches of the Marula and Wild Pear trees. Chef Garth nails the classics, such as prime rib on the steak or roasted pork belly with crispy crackling and throws an astonishing twist on his desserts with favourites like bacon or burned butter ice cream, all served with equal measures of bliss, by a friendly and enthusiastic group of waitstaff.

Game drives take place in the early morning and late afternoon when the animals are naturally most active. Key to the experience are your English-speaking local guide, working with a tracker from the local Shangaan community. This duo pool their knowledge, experience and fresh observations to maximise your wildlife sightings. Not only in terms of how much you see. But how rewarding, informative and fun the overall experience is. Your guide is often a keen photographer and will be conscious and considerate if your mission is to capture sightings on camera.
Your mode of transport, (or chariot as one of our guides likes to call it), is an open-sided 4×4 game vehicle with 3 rows of comfortable bucket seats in tiers. You generally head out with a maximum of 8 guests. This offers safe, yet close wildlife encounters. Guests sit up high for the best ‘spotting’ of birds and animals. There are no sides to inhibit your views and you naturally feel more in tune with nature. In the summer month, a shade top is added to protect against the African sun, but in winter it is open to the skies for the best bird-viewing and for stargazing.
Your guide helps you to interpret what you see. They also communicate with other vehicles by radio in order to keep in touch with sightings nearby.
Enjoy an early morning cup of coffee/tea with rusks before embarking on the game drive. After the morning game drive, breakfast is served outside on the wooden deck, while a light lunch is served just before the afternoon game drive. The bar caters for alcoholic beverages and also includes a wide selection of fine South African wine
Dinner is a festive event which is alternatively served around the campfire in the open-air boma or in the thatched dining area. Dinner consists of an African and Western cuisine with exciting tastes for the more adventurous as well as various conventional options.
