Using premium crafted beans from local coffee house, Bootlegger Coffee Company, this one-hour curated experience is conducted by one of the resort’s skilled baristas, guiding guests step-by-step to produce the perfect ‘cup-of-joe’. A walk-through of the different blends, types of coffees, history of the drink and exploration of the machinery are all to be looked forward to. Get up close and personal with these much-loved creatures of the sea during this behind the scenes experience in partnership with the Two Oceans Aquarium. Neighbours to One&Only Cape Town, the Foundation actively rescues, rehabilitates and releases stranded and distressed sea turtles as part of their conservation mission. Through them hundreds of sea turtles have been saved, cared for and released back into the wild. In this private excursion, guests will learn more about these majestic creatures, getting up close and personal with hatchlings and adults alike. Following this, guests are free to explore the Two Oceans Aquarium’s attractions such as the touch pool, shark exhibit, kelp forest and penguin exhibit at leisure. This is a fun, interactive and educational experience, perfect for children and adults alike. All proceeds go towards the non-profit Turtle Conservation Centre.

A South African grillroom, ROOI offers a menu sourced from both land and sea, transformed by fire, with a touch of local South African flavours and traditions.
ROOI is the Afrikaans word for ‘red’ (one of the twelve official languages of South Africa) and is a colour traditionally associated with power, vitality, life and fire. The theme of fire is prevalent throughout the space, even in the chosen floral motif, a pincushion protea. Proteas are known as the phoenix of the floral kingdom, due to their reliance on fire to stimulate regrowth and like the Protea, ROOI too harnesses the transformative power of fire.
An elegant contemporary space, the setting brings the outside world in with the inclusion of seven living trees and ‘horned’ seats (a nod towards Ankole cattle known for their long horns) to the design scape.

Waves splash into the mussel-clad rocks that decorate the beaches immediately below Birkenhead House. Our executive chef will take guests down to Voëlklip Beach and show them how to safely pick these delicious marine treats. Not only that, but he'll show you how to prepare the mussels with a little garlic, cream and white wine so that you can savour the fruits of your labour with a lovely glass of locally produced Sauvignon Blanc.
The Hemel-en-Aarde is one of South Africa's premier, cool-climate wine producing regions and is home to some of the country's finest and oldest estates including Hamilton Russel and Bouchard Finlayson as well as some of the more modern estates such as Creation. Not only are the wines superb, but the landscape is spectacular. Enjoy a guided tour with a knowledgeable expert, or enliven the experience by doing it on horseback or even on quad bikes.
Sea kayaking is a wonderful outdoor pursuit for the more adventurous. It will get you up close to some of Hermanus's fascinating sea life and it's also great exercise. Paddle along the coastline all the way from the Old Harbour in town to the New Harbour under the careful supervision of the local seals.
Hermanus is surrounded on all sides by natural wonder. As well as the marine fascinations, there are two incredible nature reserves in close proximity - Fernkloof Nature Reserve and Walker Bay Nature Reserve. For botanists, Fernkloof is certainly one of the most rewarding destinations in the Cape Floral Kingdom to explore the diverse fynbos.
Walker Bay is a coastal nature reserve that lies just east of Hermanus. The reserve includes five coastal areas between Hermanus and Die Dam near Struisbaai. The area is also historically significant, with records of Middle Stone Age people (65 000 to 85 000 years ago) living in Klipgat Cave.
Birkenhead House is one of the best spots in South Africa to relax. The beaches and the champagne air make for a heady combination. But no relaxation would be complete without a treatment in the Spa.

With no more than 6 adults per vehicle and in the company of a ranger and tracker team, who will attempt to track your favourite animals. The Sabi Sand Nature Reserve is well known for its leopard sightings and you may well spot one of these elusive cats resting after a successful night hunt. You will stop for refreshments at a scenic spot during your drive.
Dulini's professionally trained guides will ask you about your favourite wildlife and will do their best to ensure that your preferences are met, whether it is tracking a particular species or spending more time enjoying each sighting and getting to know the habits of the animals. They will also tell you about the vegetation of the region and will explain the behaviour of the animals that you come across. In some cases, the guides will be able to identify individual animals and let you know about their history and habits.
All of Dulini's Safari Vehicles are equipped with camera mounts and bean bags for photography, high quality binoculars for each couple, blankets, fleece lined ponchos and have the ability to have a roof mounted if needed.
Guests can enjoy interpretive guided bush walks and spend some time on foot tracking down game. Different types of walking safaris are available and can be catered to each and every single guest. Walking allows you to learn about smaller parts of the safari experience that are often missed while on a vehicle. Tracks, signs, plants, trees and birds just to name a few. Although some guests prefer tracking down some of the bugger game species such as Elephants or Rhino.
Have a short stop during your evening game drive to enjoy a stunning African sunset with a drink, or two, of your preference. there is simply no better way to celebrate the day!
