Oddballs' is situated on the edge of Chief's Island, deep in the heart of the Okavango, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is accessible by light aircraft only. On arrival, you are met at the airstrip by your personal guide and welcomed to the island. He remains your guide for the duration of your stay.

Accommodation is in simple, comfortable canvas 3m x 3m rooms (including two family units) set on elevated wooden decks, each with a view of the surrounding bush, and shaded by canvas shelters. Each tent has its own rustic en-suite facilities including hot and cold running water for the al fresco bucket shower – in true safari style.

Oddballs’ offers no motorised activities. Each guide has his own mokoro (pl. mekoro), (the genuine wooden article, not the plastic replica), in which he’ll take you gliding through the Okavango to nearby islands, where he’ll walk you through magnificent scenery to view game, birds, insects, medicinal plants, tracks, signs, droppings, and other fascinating natural phenomena.

For guests staying a minimum of four nights, Oddballs’ Camp also offers privately guided overnight camping trails by mokoro, for a minimum of two nights – although they recommend three or more to get the best out of this unique safari. Set around a waterhole in the heart of the dry mopane forest, Hyena Pan is stylishly simple with guest accommodation in eight tents overlooking the waterhole with its big elephant action. In the morning, you’ll open your tent flaps straight on to the trumpeting elephant in the lily-filled waters below, spend your siesta watching herds splash and snort, and fall asleep to antelope grazing just outside your canvas walls. A visit to our underground viewing hides (we have two), is definitely a must-see and a highlight for most guests. Each sunken hide is built at a bustling waterhole, with comfy game viewing chairs on which to perch, and enjoy the view.

Enjoy a scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta. This is an incredible opportunity to appreciate the vastness of the Delta when seeing it from above. From your seat, door off (or on), you’ll be able to spot game, take exceptional photos and follow the waterways and animal pathways that shape this ancient wilderness.

The Old House is a family run and owned guest house situated on the banks of the Chobe River and a mere walking distance from the center of town and a 10 minute boat cruise or drive to famous Chobe National Park for spectacular wildlife viewing.

We offer most activities such as boat cruises, game drives, fishing and Victoria falls day trips with a personalized touch and care.
