Estancia Santa Clara, a breathtaking castle located in the enchanting countryside of Uruguay, has been the home of the Jackson family for the last 200 years. At Santa Clara, the wild rural gaucho (cowboy) culture and the fascinating history of its stately castle and family blend to create a unique setting for a bespoke shooting and hunting experience on their property of 50,000 acres with access to another 50,000 on adjacent parcels.
The family will welcome you like old friends in their home, a castle built by Jackson’s grandson, Arturo, in the late 1800s, only with European materials brought by boat and carriage to the heart of Uruguayan farmlands. The castle is a living museum, which Jackson’s descendant - the mother and grandmother to the current 7th generation owners, Magdalena - filled with furniture, art, and treasures that tell the story of this family, which is no other than the history of Uruguay.
Without doubt, this is the most unique and privileged shooting experience in all of Uruguay and a place that even non-hunters will surely enjoy. Santa Clara features eight bedrooms individually decorated and each having a private bath. Groups will enjoy the many different common rooms throughout the house as well as a new spa scheduled to be completed in late 2022.
