Onguma Tented Camp | Onguma Game Reserve

In the local Herero language, Onguma means, "the place you don't want to leave." With a stunning main building and seven tents providing private, exclusive accommodation, Onguma Tented Camp, certainly lives up to its name. Like the bush where soft air blows against sharp thorns, Onguma Tented Camp is a study in contrasts. Textures such as stone, suede, linen and steel create a setting that is sleek and modern but also inherently of the earth. Inspired by a photograph of an Oryx on Etosha's Fisher's Pan, the interior echoes the colours of its natural surrounds. Grey, charcoal, black, white, and creams, together with a touch of muted or unexpectedly bright green, adds sophistication and earthiness to the atmosphere of this seven tent camp. The new water-level hide will provide hours of game viewing opportunities for guests. Onguma Game Reserve now offers guests an opportunity to start their safari from the moment they touch down at the private airstrip!

Victoria Falls Island Lodge & Treehouse Suites:

Just five years since Zambezi Crescent's opening of the superior Victoria Falls River Lodge, this leading hospitality company is set to broaden their management expertise with the inclusion of a more intimate and exclusive (water/land safari) experience: Victoria Falls Island Lodge.

Opened in 2017, this luxurious escape is situated upstream from the renowned Victoria Falls themselves, on its very own private island named Kandahar.

Offering five exceptionally designed tree house suites, these will be the ideal choice for the discerning traveller seeking a private escape. From honeymooners and families* to business associates, our guests are bound to enjoy the natural and pristine environment offered by Victoria Falls Island Lodge.

Accessible only by boat, and featuring private butlers to settle guests into their suites on arrival, this lodge is by comparison, like no other in the Victoria Falls area. It promises to be Zambezi Crescent’s most luxurious and exclusive 6* offering.

Victoria Falls Island Lodge combines the best of both worlds, offering privacy and easy accessibility to the top attractions and activities in the area, including the historic town of Victoria Falls. Boasting exceptional views across the mighty Zambezi River, guests can enjoy the intimacy of their spacious air-conditioned suite with private deck and plunge pool, but also explore this well-loved ‘adventure capital of Africa’, should they desire.

The shareholders of Zambezi Crescent, are well respected in the photographic safari industry - both in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Their passion for the bush was the driving force behind Victoria Falls River Lodge, which was the first private game lodge to be opened in the Zambezi National Park. Victoria Falls Island Lodge will be another first, offering guests the ultimate exclusivity combined with all the mod-cons, on their own private island.

Emphasizing the importance of fine-tuned hospitality and maintaining guests’ expectations is of the utmost importance to Zambezi Crescent and is integral at both lodges.

As such, lodge visionaries George Pangeti and Mark Bosch have appointed a team of Zimbabwe hospitality industry stalwarts, including the personable Roddy Meiring as Group General Manager and ‘mien host’ Jonathan Ellway as Front of House GM. “Having recently returned from Tanzania with my wife and family, we are delighted to be back in the Falls and being just 5 kilometers upstream, are able to enjoy a combination of both civilization and the wild," says Meiring.

A number of exciting activities and experiences will be offered at Victoria Falls Island Lodge. Most notably, cruising the waters of the Zambezi River at sunrise or sunset either by boat or canoe, big five game viewing, decadent in-room spa treatments, and delectably original Pan African cuisine. “It has always been Zambezi Crescent’s vision to offer a diverse range of attractions to different tourism markets," says Bosch. "And with Victoria Falls’ ongoing growth, we envisage ultimately to offer a range of products to suit the demands of all groups of travellers.”

Victoria Falls Island Lodge welcomes guests over the age of 12 and offers a fully-inclusive rate, including accommodation in a luxury treehouse suite, all meals and combined water/land activities at the lodge.

Kalahari Bush Breaks | Kalahari North

The Kalahari Desert is a vast sandveld region which extends over central and western Botswana into eastern Namibia and the Northern Cape. Although generally described as a desert, the typical Kalahari landscape is surprisingly well-vegetated. In spring its undulating sandy plains become a flowering wilderness; after midsummer rains they become covered in tall green grass and leafy trees, such as shepherd's tree (Boscia Albitrunca), camelthorn (Acacia Erioloba), yellowwood (Terminalia Sericea) and a vast variety of shrubs. At Kalahari Bush Breaks you are surrounded by primordial, enthralling savannas while the ambiance of the guest house itself is both natural and luxurious. You can relax in comfort while taking in a unique and unspoilt landscape- certainly the best of both worlds. The three-levelled thatched complex and 2 Chalets can accommodate up to sixteen people (plus 2 guides) sharing. There are eight bedrooms, two which are equipped with double beds, and all have en-suite bathrooms. The garden is shaded by worm-bark false-thorn trees (Albizia Anthelmintica) and overlooks a floodlit waterhole where game and birds flock during the day. Natural building materials were used. The colours and patterns have an African feel and traditional Namibian coziness. The partly covered lapa can be referred to as the "heart" of the guest house with an open fireplace, a kitchen and bar facilities.
