McBride's Camp | Central Kafue

McBrides' Camp is situated in one of the last true wilderness areas of Kafue National Park, far removed from roads and human presence. This exceptional environment is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles, making the camp a haven for nature enthusiasts. During the drier seasons, the area becomes a sanctuary for wildlife, thanks to three cold springs that act as a natural magnet for animals.

The camp is strategically positioned on a gently curving stretch of the meandering Kafue River and near the confluence of the Mushingashi River, offering 180 degrees of magnificent riverfront scenery, with a resident group of 30 hippos as neighbors. McBrides' Camp provides an unparalleled escape into the heart of Kafue National Park, where authentic simplicity meets organic opulence, creating the perfect setting to unwind, relax, and immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of the Zambian wilderness.

Upon arrival, visitors are immediately enveloped by the profound peace of the wilderness. The main lodge exudes a welcoming warmth, blending rustic elegance with homely comfort. The whispering breeze, carrying the fragrant scent of wild orchids and freshly baked bread from the lodge’s hearth, adds an extra touch of hospitality to this wild retreat.
