Gonarezhou & Gorongosa Discovery Safari - 2024

Malcolm Lodge offers accommodation on bed and breakfast basis in a peaceful environment ideal for visitors to Harare whether on business, holiday or school functions. All guest suites are en-suite with their own private outside area. Available to guests is a large dining/lounge area complimented by a spacious verandah opening out onto our swimming pool and braai area. Full breakfast is served daily with snack meals and dinners available on request. Complimentary tea and coffee self-service and an honesty bar available to guests.

Camp overlooks the Masasanya Dam and has just 4 Twin / Double Bedded Chalets designed and crafted by Shangaan Villagersan dit is. These very same people are employed to help run the camp during your stay, bringing that vital link between tourism and sustainable income that is vital in modern conservation. 
Each chalet has an ensuite hot water bucket shower charmingly and imaginatively created to compliment the very original feel of this bush camp. By the time of your visit, the toilet will be adjoining the chalet (at the time of writing, although private, it is just a couple of meters from the chalet).
The beds have high-quality mattresses and linens under billowing mozi nets. The front and side of each chalet can be fully opened, giving a breeze during the day and on warm nights (or not) if you wish. 
Each chalet has a wonderful panoramic view of the dam in front of the camp.  There are always animals coming and going through the day and all night long. As you would expect, the dam has its resident vocal hippo family.
Meals at Masasanya are enjoyed in the central dining area, with a nice campfire on the side for those starry evenings and, essential to any safari, fireside stories of the bush - 
Each day your meals are themed around an area of Africa, giving you a real mix of different African foods, demonstrating how complex the flavours and styles of African cooking can be.

The Fly Camping experience is in a private campsite along the Runde River. This camping adventure will give you the chance to see much more of this vast park without having to drive the long distances  - which in turn gives you more game viewing time in the right areas. A good reason to come to this part of the park is game-viewing around the huge natural pans formed here which are a part of the beautiful landscapes and ecosystems created at the junction of the Runde and Save Rivers.

The camp can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests in 3m x 3m walk in safari dome tents. They have, solar lighting, fold-able camp type beds and proper linen and have a great view over the river. In order to reduce the human impact here in these pristine environments, we are not allowed to have en-suite bathroom facilities, but there is a toilet and shower facility for the camp that we set up, so you can enjoy a nice hot shower at the end of your safari day.

Your meals are prepared in camp with each day being designed to represent the food from different parts of Africa to enhance your African safari experience.

Chilojo Bush Camp is a seasonal tented camp. Prfectly placed in the heart of the Our aim isn't to provide a luxury hotel in the bush, but a comfortable, private retreat from which to appreciate the true wilderness qualities Gonarezhou which is one of the park's greatest attractions.

The camp can sleep a maximum of ten guests, accommodated in beautifully airy, tailor-made, Meru-style walk in tents. Each tent has two regular size single beds fitted with cotton sheets, duvets and throw pillows, a bedside table and outside a little front veranda. Each tent has its own en suite private bucket shower and composting toilet tent located at the back of the tent.

Solar lighting is provided in the tents and hurricane lamps illuminate the elephant paths that are our pathways between the tents and the main mess area which consists of a large open sided tent and is where most meals are served.

Situated in the Vumba (also known as the Bvumba) mountain range overlooking Mozambique, this birdwatcher’s paradise offers a glimpse of the rarer and more secretive of the forest birds. The name Seldomseen is a pun as you seldom see the birds but you often hear them! Hence bird watching here can be hard work but very rewarding if you are patient.

Consisting of two cottages and a lodge, the venue offers the birdwatcher a serene atmosphere to relax and unwind with the family. The accommodation is fully equipped for self catering and serviced daily. Guests are encouraged to explore the indigenous forests, or you can hire a local guide to show you some of our special birds.

Seldomseen is 25km from Mutare just off the main Vumba road.
