Daily game drives with professional guides and trackers provide the perfect opportunity to get up close to Africa’s incredible animals, while late afternoon drives reveal the elusive magic of nocturnal Africa. Our game drives are all conducted in state-of-the-art Land Rovers, each accommodating a maximum of six guests. During your stay at Singita Sabi Sand, you are likely to spot a great variety of wildlife including leopard, lion, rhino, large herds of buffalo, elephant, reedbuck, hyena, hippopotamus, nyala, cheetah, wild dogs and many species of birds.
Walking safaris are an incredible way to experience the bush up close and personal. Your expert guide and tracker will accompany you as you track animals on foot through the wilderness and explore the magnificent plants and landscapes around you.
There is perhaps no more transcendent experience than looking up at a full sky of sparkling stars. Man has had a love affair with the nighttime sky for centuries and with very little pollution and no city lights to detract from the stars, your view of the heavens here will be crystal clear – nothing between you and the vast African sky above.
Fully equipped fitness centres are available for guests’ convenience. Each facility provides picturesque views of the bush, allowing you to keep an eye on the action outside while you work out.
Each suite at Singita Boulders Lodge comes complete with a private infinity pool as well as the idyllic swimming pool at the main lodge area.
Offering the luxury of unfiltered time and space, the African wilderness is the ultimate setting for complete unwinding, while the continent’s healing energies are encapsulated in rituals that nourish and nurture.
At Singita, our enduring purpose to restore the land and its wildlife extends to offering healing experiences to our guests at every touchpoint. The dedicated treatments in our massage spaces tap into the profound benefits of indigenous wisdoms and essential oils that relax, replenish and revive. Each tailor-made therapy can be customised and timed to preference, ensuring a completely personalised experience.
The massage menu has been designed to immerse guests into their beautiful surroundings, and all treatments incorporate that peace and vibrant energy to revitalise and nourish the soul.
Not your regular curio shop, you will find original treasures that have been gathered from all corners of the African continent. A range of collectable sculptures, home-ware and furnishings will allow you to recreate ‘the safari dream’ within your own home. Artefacts, as well as authentic carvings and jewellery created by local craftsmen are just a few of the treasures you may find to take home as gifts. Amongst beautiful museum quality, fine-art prints and works by some of the most respected artists on the continent, there are many pieces especially designed for Singita. Here too you can find a range of quality branded Singita safari wear.
We offer a worldwide shipping service so you may make your purchases at the lodges with the option to send them straight home.
As one of South Africa’s most influential buyers of wine, Singita’s cellars are home to some of the most sought-after private reserves and vintage wines the country has to offer. Whether you are a connoisseur or just enjoy the occasional glass of wine, our experienced sommeliers delight in introducing guests to a vast selection of varietals from all over the world.
Through Singita Premier Wine Direct guests may purchase wines from our cellars: either to be taken home at the end of their trip or conveniently delivered to their door. As an addition to cellar purchases, we have secured allocations of highly limited, sought-after wines, including ‘Icons’, ‘Single Vineyard’ and ‘Limited Release’ wines, directly from leading wineries in South Africa. Stored in temperature-controlled cellars, these wines are unlikely to be available anywhere else.
Guests have the opportunity to visit the Sabi Sand Canine Unit for an interactive session where they can participate in an actual tracking exercise with a dog and handler. Guests have the opportunity to meet with a senior handler and go behind-the-scenes at the base camp and see the workings of this dedicated and specialized unit. The dogs are highly trained and able to perform multiple functions, from
pursuing intruders to sniffing out rhino horn and ammunition from vehicles and bags.
Due to the sensitive and costly nature of the program, a donation amount of ZAR5,000 per person has been set. A minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 guests are allowed per demonstration.

The Silo Hotel | Cape Town
The Silo Hotel is an architectural masterpiece towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural and man-made wonders of South Africa’s Mother City. The Silo Hotel has 28 suites, including a spectacular penthouse. Each suites has been individually designed and decorated by The Royal Portfolio's founder, Liz Biden. Colourful and eclectic pieces juxtapose the modern, industrial architecture.
Situated above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), The Silo Hotel was designed by Thomas Heatherwick, Founder and Principal of the London-based Heatherwick Studio. Built as a granary in 1924, from the outside, the greatest visible change to the building’s original structure is the addition of pillowed glass windows, inserted into the geometry of the hotel floors, which gently curve outward. By night, this transforms the building into a glowing lantern or beacon in the harbour.

The best place to experience Cape Malay cuisine is on a walking tour through the Bo-Kaap District in Cape Town, an area with steep cobblestone streets and brightly-coloured houses where former Cape Malay slaves settled in the early 19th century. Stop to enjoy a local bobotie, sosatie, koeksister or Cape Malay curry for lunch whilst learning about the rich heritage of the Cape Malay people who live there.

Hermanus is renowned as the best destination for land-based whale watching in the world and there is no finer spot to enjoy that than on the patio of Birkenhead House. But if you're serious about whales, then why not go on a whale cruise or even take to the skies, soaring high above these majestic mammals. Learn all about the fascinating behaviour of Southern Right and Humpback whales and gain insights into their extraordinary movements that include lob tailing, spy hopping and peduncling.
Waves splash into the mussel-clad rocks that decorate the beaches immediately below Birkenhead House. Our executive chef will take guests down to Voëlklip Beach and show them how to safely pick these delicious marine treats. Not only that, but he'll show you how to prepare the mussels with a little garlic, cream and white wine so that you can savour the fruits of your labour with a lovely glass of locally produced Sauvignon Blanc.
The Hemel-en-Aarde is one of South Africa's premier, cool-climate wine producing regions and is home to some of the country's finest and oldest estates including Hamilton Russel and Bouchard Finlayson as well as some of the more modern estates such as Creation. Not only are the wines superb, but the landscape is spectacular. Enjoy a guided tour with a knowledgeable expert, or enliven the experience by doing it on horseback or even on quad bikes.
Sea kayaking is a wonderful outdoor pursuit for the more adventurous. It will get you up close to some of Hermanus's fascinating sea life and it's also great exercise. Paddle along the coastline all the way from the Old Harbour in town to the New Harbour under the careful supervision of the local seals.
Hermanus is surrounded on all sides by natural wonder. As well as the marine fascinations, there are two incredible nature reserves in close proximity - Fernkloof Nature Reserve and Walker Bay Nature Reserve. For botanists, Fernkloof is certainly one of the most rewarding destinations in the Cape Floral Kingdom to explore the diverse fynbos.
Walker Bay is a coastal nature reserve that lies just east of Hermanus. The reserve includes five coastal areas between Hermanus and Die Dam near Struisbaai. The area is also historically significant, with records of Middle Stone Age people (65 000 to 85 000 years ago) living in Klipgat Cave.
Birkenhead House is one of the best spots in South Africa to relax. The beaches and the champagne air make for a heady combination. But no relaxation would be complete without a treatment in the Spa.

Discover a new level of relaxation with the Zambezi Queen Spa -where curated treatments and river reviews come together in perfect harmony. Inspired by the rhythms of the Chobe, our spa offers a tranquil space to unwind and reconnect with nature, adding a gentle touch of indulgence to your river safari experience.
Staying on board the Zambezi Queen is like being on a permanent game viewing vehicle, but with a much higher comfort factor. Situated in the heart of the Chobe region with access to river frontage of the Chobe National Park, we also offer water-based game drives by tender boat, allowing you to experience the enormous diversity and concentration of wildlife up even closer.
Game viewing on the Chobe River is at its most exceptional from March to November when the weather is drier and the animals are more mobile as they search for food and water. Summer and spring also offer unique opportunities though, as you watch the landscape burst into life after the first rains of the season. Catch sight of huge herds of elephant as they swim across the water, as well as buffalo, lion, crocodile, lechwe, puku, giraffe, zebra, sable, kudu and the occasional leopard as they gather to quench their thirst at watering holes. Besides animal life, you’ll also see a huge variety of birdlife and plant life as you listen to the sounds of a hippo grunting and breathe in the sweet smell of African grass.
No trip to the Chobe is complete without trying your hand at a fishing safari where if you’re lucky, you may even catch a tiger fish. One of the greatest fighting fish in the world, the tiger fish is the most sought after prize of these waters and is known for its ferocious spirit. It's not all about tiger fish though. You may also hook one of the many bream species, African pike, tilapia, catfish or upper Zambezi yellowfish as you explore over 100 kms of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers, as well as the winding Kasai Channel and thrilling Chobe and Mambova rapids.
We offer both conventional equipment as well as flyfishing equipment for our fishing safaris, because we know that the area is renowned worldwide for its flyfishing. We supply rods, flies, lures, lines, leaders and reels and all equipment is included in our rate.
Because of our unique location, we offer excellent fishing safaris all year round – from the annual floods starting in March to the feeding frenzies in the winter months. Our highly knowledgeable guides, the tackle and bait we supply as well as well stocked cooler boxes make fishing in Africa an experience to remember. Land an eight pounder or more and earn bragging rights for years to come, as you enjoy a fishing trip that's second to none.
With over 450 species, a mix of terrains and a dramatic African backdrop, the Chobe River is the perfect setting for a highly rewarding birdwatching safari. Birding season starts in September, when the first migrants arrive, boosting the bird population sometimes by 20% compared to the winter months. From December through to March birdlife on the Chobe is extremely busy and the colourful breeding plumage on display is an extraordinary sight.
Experienced birders and even eager amateurs will delight in spotting distinct birds such as African skimmers, rock pratincoles and the African finfoot, either through their binoculars or with the naked eye. Having access to your own knowledgeable guide and tender boat lets you spend many hours on your birding safari also viewing cattle egrets, fish eagles, open-billed storks, lesser-striped swallows, pied kingfishers and the striking carmine bee-eater. The slow drift of the tender boat means that you won’t disturb the peaceful silence and can also get up close to the birds and observe their fascinating behaviour.
Uninterrupted access to wild animals. Absolute silence. Golden light. The Chobe River is an unforgettable photographic safari destination, and one of the wildlife photographers’ hotspots in Africa. To help you capture that perfect moment, our custom-designed photographic safari boats are available on request and cater for 6 clients in individual photographic seats. The boat contains custom-designed swivel chairs that give you greater stability and 360-degree views for a wider range of subject matter. Every seat is equipped with a mounting for resting SLR cameras of all types and you’ll get your own experienced safari guide who’ll help you find that perfect shot.
Bring your own photographic equipment as we don’t supply this - the optimal lens to bring is an 80 - 400mm zoom. Because this is a water-based safari, you'll be able to take unique shots in a safe environment, being able to view the animals in the Chobe National Park surrounded by that magical golden light Africa is renowned for.
One of the best ways to learn more about a country is to experience its culture. A village tour while on board the Zambezi Queen will take you by tender boat to a local Namibian village called Ijambwe, situated on the floodplains of the East Caprivi. Meet village elders and locals and gain a greater understanding of how the inhabitants of this 100-year old village live, including their daily challenges and traditions.
Bar, Lounge and Dining
Dining Room
Our dining room offers a peaceful corner to share an intimate dinner, or gather to share tales over culinary dishes. Enjoy three hearty meals a day, starting with a continental or cooked breakfast. Indulge in a buffet lunch and end the day with a four-course plated dinner, complemented by drinks and light snacks in between.
Bar
Golden hour and beyond, settle in as the sun dips beneath the Chobes’ horizon. Enjoy a selection of Southern Africa’s finest wines, a delicious cocktail mixed with precision and flare, or an ice-cold lager served with the friendliest smile and snacks.
Lounge
For the best views, join us on the upper deck. Find a spot to relax in the lounge, on the bow or stern - each area offers a spectacular view of the Chobe River and unobstructed views of the unique African landscape, through the large floor to ceiling glass sliding doors.
Special dietary requirements can be catered for, but we ask that you specify this when you book - our remote location means that we need a bit of time to source ingredients that may be out of the ordinary.

Created exclusively as part of a Xigera stay, The Delta's Ancestral Passage is an extraordinary overnight journey into the living soul of the Okavango. Travelling by mokoro through hidden waterways, guests move at the Delta's rhythm, guided by those whose families have lived alongside these waters for hundreds of years. They hear the stories carried from one generation to the next, discover the ancient wisdom that has shaped life here for centuries, and begin to understand the heartbeat of this remarkable wilderness.
Inspired by the exploration and conservation work of National Geographic Explorer Dr. Steve Boyes, The Delta's Ancestral Passage offers guests the rare privilege of experiencing this place through the people who know it most intimately, while helping ensure that its stories, wisdom and wilderness will continue to endure for generations to come.
The Delta's Ancestral Passage represents a new way of experiencing the Okavango, one where exceptional hospitality, pioneering conservation and generations of local knowledge come together in a single journey.
From May 2027, The Delta's Ancestral Passage will form part of an exclusive four-night Xigera journey, with departures limited to just six guests at a time, or available on an exclusive-use basis.
Available from May to September.
Move through the Delta’s living landscapes on dawn, dusk, or guest-desired game drives. Follow dusty paths across floodplains and woodlands, where elephants wade through channels, lion prides rest in golden light, and the elusive leopard moves like shadow through the trees. With Xigera’s expert guides, each drive becomes a deeper encounter, with wildlife, with land, and the stories they hold.
Tread with nature on guided bush walks, attuning to every sound, scent, and track under the experienced care of our guides. Walking slowly unwraps the linked pace of the wild, where wisdom is written into every track and leaf.
Drift through the Delta’s waterways on traditional mokoros, guided by the steady hand of your poler, each push moving you silently, deeper into the bountiful landscape. Our polers grew up navigating these waters and are expert at spotting and identifying aquatic birds, fish and wildlife along the channels.
Explore winding papyrus-fringed channels aboard our double-decker motorboats, where the water’s surface mirrors the sky. These excursions also allow for exploration of the deeper rivers and lagoons that are home to crocodile and large pods of hippo. Please note that boating is seasonal, water levels permitting.
From the Coppery-tailed Coucal to the Western-banded Snake Eagle, Wattled Crane to Lesser Jacana, walking safaris are an ideal opportunity for enthusiastic bird-watchers to admire the over 500 species recorded in the Okavango Delta. Xigera’s exceptional location on the fringes of the Moremi Game Reserve delivers some of the best birding Botswana has to offer - including the much sought-after Pel's Fishing Owl.
Catch-and-release fishing offers a serene but exciting encounter with the Delta’s waters. Tigerfish, African Pike, and Bream await, but sustainably, mindfully and unforgettable. Please note that catch-and-release fishing is season-dependent.
Meticulously designed to frame breathtaking views of the seasonal flood plains and lush riverine forests, Xigera's spa is a sanctuary of calm. Treatments blend Tata Harper’s award-winning organic skincare with the healing power of indigenous botanicals. Signature massages, facials, and body rituals reveal the mystical healings of the Delta, restoring balance to body and spirit.
The lodge showcases a modern fitness centre – with state-of-the-art equipment from Technogym – alongside a swimming pool and relaxation deck gazing over the river.
Spend an unforgettable night 10 metres above the floodplains in our exclusive sculptural Baobab Treehouse, offering panoramic views from each of its three levels. Open to the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the Delta, it is Africa’s most extraordinary sleepout experience. Situated one kilometre away from the lodge, with a guide stationed close by, the striking steel structure is built in the evocative shape of a Baobab tree.
Inside the tree’s ‘trunk’, a winding staircase climbs nearly four metres above ground, delivering guests to the spacious bathroom on the first level. The bedroom is located on the second level, beautifully appointed with carved timber furniture. Both spaces have canvas walls that can open up to the outside environment, or be zipped closed to allow for privacy and protection from the elements.
Ascend to the top and the drama unfolds, with an open-air deck for lounging, reading and watching wildlife pass undisturbed below. A serene, hidden eyrie from which to witness the magic of the Delta at dusk or ¬– if you choose to spend the night in the open-air king-size bed – to marvel at the stars.
Please note the Baobab Treehouse is at a surcharge and cannot be pre-booked.
Take to the skies for an aerial perspective of the Delta’s immeasurable wonder. Choose door-off flights for unmatched photographic opportunities, or pair with champagne landings on hidden palm islands.
