Thanda Tented Camp offers a romantic safari experience that blends classic Africa tented safari living with total comfort. Designed for guests seeking an old world safari, the camp delivers timeless wilderness charm. Each of the 15 luxury safari tents is thoughtfully positioned for seclusion and wilderness views. They have a private deck and an en-suite canvas bathroom; some also offering indoor and outdoor shower options. The sumptuous Jabula Tent has a private plunge pool, and is ideal for honeymooners or families.
The camp operates on solar and battery power with a back-up generator, with safari lamps lighting the way to the tents at night. WIFI is available in the camp’s shared areas, which include a Hemingway-style lounge area, a dining area featuring African artworks, a large infinity pool and deck, and a waterhole and boma.

As the drama of this busy kitchen in ‘full service’ mode unfolds, watch as the Chefs prepare a delicious 5-course paired menu before your eyes. The Chef’s Table is available for groups of between six and 10 guests, from from Monday to Sunday for Dinner only.

Wilderness Davison's | Eastern Hwange National Park
Nestled discreetly beneath a grove of false mopane trees, Wilderness Davison's is located in the private Linkwasha Concession - one of the most prolific wildlife areas in Hwange National Park. Hidden within a treeline, this African safari camp, overlooks an open plain and a waterhole that attracts large numbers of animals, especially thirsty herds of elephant and buffalo in the dry season.
Guests staying in one of Wilderness Davison’s nine tents (including a family room) can enjoy the quintessential Hwange experience, viewing the wildlife on game drives and guided nature walks in this diverse and exciting area. Arranged directly in camp only, and subject to vehicle availability, it may be possible to include a visit to one of the local villages. Subject to availability, guests may have the opportunity to visit and learn more about the Scorpion Anti-Poaching Unit team.

Game drives take place in open 4x4 vehicles, and are led by our highly experienced guides through our private Wilderness concessions which are situated in the most productive areas of Hwange National Park. The varied habitats and vegetation types, as well as countless waterholes, mean that drives are exciting with diverse species to be seen.
The Hwange 'night act' includes nocturnal species such as lesser bushbaby, spotted hyaena, leopard, lion, Selous mongoose, pangolin, caracal, porcupine, scrub hare, springhare and even honey badger.
Hwange was proclaimed some 80 years ago and has served as a haven for one of the densest concentrations of game in Africa. There is no better way to experience this park than on foot with an experienced, qualified walking safari guide.
Meet and interact with the Zimbabwe Parks, Wildlife Management Authority (ZPWMA) and Scorpion Anti-Poaching Unit who work in partnership with Wilderness, to protect the south-eastern region of Hwange. Thereby, reducing poaching within the park through funding, assisting in patrols and removing snares.

An authentic village experience takes place in a manner that is respectful to all parties. This half day excursion is led by one of the local villagers or a Wilderness guide. It often includes a guided tour of the school, meeting the headman or headwoman and enjoying cultural exchanges with the villagers.
