Most of our game drives make are in an open game-viewing vehicle – this lets you sit at different levels and gives everyone a ‘window’ seat. Our open vehicles have power points where you can recharge your devices, and are fitted with fridges to keep your drinks deliciously frosty. We do also have a closed game-viewing vehicle that may be used if available which is fitted with a cooler box for chilled beverages. Private vehicles are available at an additional cost. (Note that families with children under 12 must book a private game-viewing vehicle.)
There’s also the opportunity to see some of Tanzania’s famous ‘nightlife’, with unforgettable night drives permitted within Tarangire.
Walking is the absolute speciality of Oliver's Camp. The privilege of walking in these natural areas gives you an exhilarating feeling of adventure. Although you'll usually get close to large mammals such as elephant, giraffe, buffalo or even lion, walking safaris are very safe. The experienced guides at Oliver's Camp and an armed national park ranger will accompany you on every walk. Walking safaris can take an hour or a whole morning or afternoon.

Many of our staff members are drawn from the surrounding communities and are always eager to share their experiences, providing a richer understanding of the culture that defines this corner of East Africa. The remote and starkly beautiful landscape of the Northern Serengeti inspired the design of Sayari's 15 tented suits, which are a subtle mirror of the iconic flat-topped volcanic Turner Hill to the north. Inside, the rich mahogany floors and delicate tones of sand, stone, and acacia reflect the hues and textures of the natural terrain. Each spacious suite has a king-sized bed (twin beds available) with fine linens and safari-chic decor to offset the wilderness just beyond the canvas walls. The en-suite bathrooms with walk-in shower and egg-shaped bathtub overlook the Northern Serengeti plains, as do the beautiful private verandas outside.
One of Sayari’s 15 tented suites is a spacious, two-bedroom family suite suitable for two adults and three children under the age of 16. The main bedroom is similar to that of the other tents and has all the amenities you would expect: a king-sized bed, walk-in shower, huge bathtub with stunning views of the northern Serengeti, and of course, a spacious private veranda. The main bedroom is linked to the children’s room by a raised platform complete with safety railings. This second bedroom has three single beds with access to a spacious en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The second bedroom also has a private veranda, so no one misses out on those fabulous views of the wilderness.
