Tadoba Tiger Reserve is Maharashtra's National Park with one of the highest densities of tigers in the country. Thickly clad hills form the north and western boundary of the Tiger Reserve. Half way along the western boundary of the Park, the hills contours to form the Chichghat valley where the TigerTrails Jungle Lodge is located. It is ringed on three sides by the Park forest and is located adjacent to the Khutwanda gate, which is the entry point into the National Park.
The Khutwanda Gate is connected to the center of the park, so shorter drives to all park wildlife areas. The Lodge area is untouched by any kind of tourism or development and offers the discerning guest the guarantee of privacy as well as lovely walks and hiking trails around the lodge. While most parks have a reputation of being over-crowded with lodges, Tiger Trails Jungle Lodge has no neighboring resorts, villages or highways. To the south is the Irai lake, approx. 30 sq. km. and forming the south-western boundary of the Tiger Reserve.
The Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Tadoba rivulet overlooking several waterholes and grasslands which are teeming with bird-life and wildlife. One can view Honey Badgers, Sloth Bears, Porcupines, Civet cats and a host of other nocturnal mammals from the rooms overlooking the grasslands. All rooms have views of these grasslands and waterholes and have en-suit bathrooms with hot and cold running water and flushing toilets.
All bedrooms have air conditioners and 100 percent power back up for the erratic electric supply. The lodge is a rustic yet deluxe experience. Meals are simple home cooked Indian cuisine, using freshly procured vegetables and mainly Indian slightly modified to suit all tastes. All meals, snacks, variety of teas and fresh coffee are included in price.
