Namibia's Rim to River Hike is especially designated for tourists who are passionate about special adventures! It entails 3 days in total, as hikers immerse themselves in a 5-million-year-old geological landscape.
First Day
To begin your adventure, you will depart after a hearty breakfast in an open safari vehicle to the start of the hiking trail. You will then further commence the descent along the famous and picturesque “Jelly Legs” trail. The hike will follow a 19 km trail to the popular rock pools, where you can relax, take a swim and enjoy the breathtaking nature before having your packed lunch. The last 6 km of the trail on day 1 will ascend to Camp Eternity. Once you arrive, you will enjoy some refreshments and the canvas bags will be taken to your tents. A briefing of your guide for the following exciting day’s activities will be given while you savor a sundowner drink, before starting a three-course meal, served directly under the stars.
Second Day
After your breakfast the descent into the Canyon begins. The hike follows over stunning riverbeds towards the Mushroom Rock which is about 6.7 km away. A packed lunch will be served upon arrival, before you continue the 3.9 km ascent to Camp Edge. Refreshments will be served again upon arrival. Canvas bags will be taken to the tents, you have some time to relax until the dinner is served. Your guide will inform you again about the next day’s activities while you enjoy a sundowner drink.
Departure Day
On this last day, you will commence your final 9.3 km hike back to the Lodge after breakfast. Arrival time at the lodge will be between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm. All the lodge facilities are available to you including a hot shower.
