Gonarezhou Bush Camp is a seasonal tented camp, which is operated on an exclusive booking basis and requires a minimum group of four adults for a minimum stay of four nights. Our aim isn't to provide a luxury hotel in the bush, but a comfortable, private retreat from which to appreciate the true wilderness qualities Gonarezhou which is one of the park's greatest attractions.
The camp can sleep a maximum of ten guests, accommodated in beautifully airy, tailor-made, Meru-style walk in tents. Each tent has two regular size single beds fitted with cotton sheets, duvets and throw pillows, a bedside table and outside a little front veranda. Each tent has its own en suite private bucket shower and composting toilet tent located at the back of the tent.
Solar lighting is provided in the tents and hurricane lamps illuminate the elephant paths that are our pathways between the tents and the main mess area which consists of a large open sided tent and is where most meals are served.
Gonarezhou Bush Camp is owned and managed by Ant and Rawana Kaschula who have been operating safaris in Gonarezhou since 2007.

Tented Camp
Comfortable mobile camp on the banks of the Runde River, set up especially for your group. Bush Bound uses a number of sites in this area, including Bopomela, located in the heart of Gonarezhou National Park. This is a scenic and well shaded base for your explorations of this portion of the Park, including day trips to Tembwahata and Machaniwa Pans. Depending on the season and the current animal movements, your guide will have a number of great wildlife areas to show you, each with quite different scenery and vegetation.
During your stay with Bush Bound, you will be looked after by our camp team and professional guide. You will be served your meals out in the bush or in camp, overlooking the river.
Your camp footprint will depend on the size of your group. In general, we use walk-in 3 x 3 meter dome tents, with comfortable and sturdy camp cots and solar lighting in the tents. There is a dining area under the stars, and of course, drinks and stories around the campfire. In order to reduce the human impact in this pristine environment, we are not allowed to have en-suite bathroom facilities, but there is a toilet and shower facility for the camp that we set up, so you can enjoy a nice hot shower at the end of your safari day.

This camp overlooks the Massasanya Dam and has 4 Twin / Double Bedded Chalets designed and crafted by Shangaan Villagers. The beds have proper mattresses and linens with a wonderful panoramic view over the dam in front of your room that always has animals coming and going through the day and night along with its resident hippo families. The room has an en suite shower facility and toilet next to the room.
All meals are at the central dining area with a nice camp fire on the side for those starry evenings and fireside stories of the bush - Each day your meals are themed around an area of Africa giving you a real mix of different African foods showing how complex the flavors and styles are.
Game viewing is in an open safari vehicle into the surrounding bush and down towards the Chilojo Cliffs flood plains.
