Embark on an enriching journey through the Kalahari into the ancient world of the San, Namibia’s first inhabitants. Guided by a local expert from the Bushmen Survival Trust, this immersive desert walk reveals ancestral knowledge and the secrets of survival in one of the world’s most challenging environments.
Learn to read the land, identify plants with healing and practical uses, and interpret the animal tracks etched into the sand. Through storytelling and demonstrations, gain a profound insight into the authentic hunter-gatherer culture.
This activity includes refreshments and a light snack; advance booking recommended or directly at the lodge.

These drives are the perfect way to getting acquainted with the Kalahari Desert. The approx. 3 hour sunset drive with panoramic views across the Kalahari dunes is something to remember forever. Starts at Kalahari Anib Lodge.
Join a 2-hour morning drive with a dedicated tour guide. After a leisurely drive guests will arrive at one of the red dunes. The red sand of the dunes invites all children to play. The family will spend some relaxed time on the dunes with coffee and hot chocolate. The guide will share some interesting facts on fauna and flora with the children (and their parents). Morning only. An unforgettable full-day guided adventure through Namibia’s wild Damaraland, where nature’s resilience meets ancient heritage. Led by an expert local guide, this immersive experience offers the rare chance to track desert-adapted elephants, known for their gentle presence and extraordinary endurance. Along the way, time permitting, you may also encounter: Twyfelfontein’s ancient rock engravings, the Petrified Forest, Burnt Mountain, Organ Pipes and/or a Damara Cultural Village.
