Surrounded by the stunning Northern Andes scenery, just two hours north of Quito, this Colonial Hacienda dates back to the late XVI century. Besides welcoming guests in their beautifully decorated rooms, Zuleta is a working farm of 2,000, with quaint gardens, an archaeological site featuring Caranqui pyramids, a rescue center for condors, and traditional and authentic Ecuadorian cuisine from the northern provinces.

The hacienda has 21 unique, beautifully appointed rooms and suites, each with its own fireplace and queen-sized, king-sized, or twin beds. Relax in cozy antique salons, wander through blossoming gardens and plazas, or read one of the hundreds of books in the President’s Library.

Little touches, like plump anti-allergic bedding, embroidered linen, fresh roses, and hot water bottles, add to the charm. Wifi is available throughout most of the Hacienda.  

Hacienda Zuleta has also gone beyond to ensure guests' ultimate relaxation by introducing the lavish new Relaxation Center. The new facility features a relaxation pool, wet areas boasting a Turkish bath and sauna, and a jacuzzi. For those willing to relax further after a day full of adventures, the new spa offers a multitude of invigorating treatments and massages 

Hacienda Zuleta is 9,600 feet above sea level. Temperatures average between 70°F and 75°F degrees during the day with low humidity. Nights tend to be crisp and average temperatures are around the mid to upper 50°s F.

The way you travel matters

At Hacienda Zuleta, through the Galo Plaza Lasso Foundation, we provide scholarships to cover school expenses for children and teenagers in the community. We also market products made by local embroiderers and are currently running the Zuleta Musical project, which offers music training classes for the creation of a choir and musical ensemble. In terms of environmental initiatives, we manage the Condor Huasi Project, focusing on the reproduction and conservation of the Andean Condor.

Regarding our tourism operations:

• More than 90% of our hotel's workforce comes from the Zuleta community and other communities in the Angochagua Parish.

• We have a waste management system in place, with materials being sorted and delivered to environmental management entities. Organic materials are composted.

• Our hacienda has a wastewater treatment system.

• We use biodegradable toiletries.

• Each room is equipped with signage to encourage electricity and water conservation.

• Our food service operates on a pre-established menu and takes orders to minimize food waste.

• Recycling of office paper is promoted.

• We provide training for employees, including mandatory legal training and supplementary training on topics such as gender violence.

• The use of disposable products is minimized, with no disposable water bottles or unnecessary amenities.

• We prioritize the consumption of local raw materials and products from our own hacienda.

These efforts reflect Hacienda Zuleta's commitment to both our community and environmental sustainability in our tourism operations.
