One&Only Cape Town boasts the largest contemporary rooms and suites in the city, characterfully designed with authentic African-inspired interiors. The 16 Marina Harbour Rooms (63m2/678ft2) offer exceptional views from a large private balcony of Cape Town’s working waterfront harbour and have inspiring interiors that display both contemporary and traditional African aesthetics for a distinctive sense of place. Each have undergone an extensive interior refurbishment, crafted using thoughtful textures and organic materials, working to create not only a space, but a whole experience and story. Enter and be greeted by warm lighting, an earthy colour scheme and a mud cloth adorned entrance, whose fabric inspired by the traditional Mali cloths creates an authentically African welcome. The space is a perfect blend of nature and design, modernity, and tradition.

Dramatic African artwork accentuates the foyer, large entertainment area and dining room in the one bedroom 316m2/3,401ft2 Table Mountain Suite, located in the crescent-shaped Marina Rise. The suite also features an executive office, dedicated Guest Host, a personal gym and a magnificent terrace ensuring the perfect view, after which this suite takes its prided name. Guests are able to host private dinners or business meetings at the large, 10-seater dining room table as One&Only Cape Town’s chefs* prepare gourmet meals in the fully-equipped kitchen.

This class blends the expert barista skills with the best coffee beans in town to give an encompassing tutorial on the art of coffee. Using premium crafted beans from local coffee house, Bootlegger Coffee Company, this one-hour curated experience is conducted by one of the resort’s skilled baristas, guiding guests step-by-step to produce the perfect ‘cup-of-joe’. A walk-through of the different blends, types of coffees, history of the drink and exploration of the machinery are all to be looked forward to. Learn about the history of these pastries, their place in South African culture in the current day and take the knowledge of these delicious treats home with you. Practice yoga atop one of the most iconic landmarks, the ancient and majestic Table Mountain, an experience never to be repeated. Get up close and personal with these much-loved creatures of the sea during this behind the scenes experience in partnership with the Two Oceans Aquarium. Neighbours to One&Only Cape Town, the Foundation actively rescues, rehabilitates and releases stranded and distressed sea turtles as part of their conservation mission. Through them hundreds of sea turtles have been saved, cared for and released back into the wild. In this private excursion, guests will learn more about these majestic creatures, getting up close and personal with hatchlings and adults alike. Following this, guests are free to explore the Two Oceans Aquarium’s attractions such as the touch pool, shark exhibit, kelp forest and penguin exhibit at leisure. This is a fun, interactive and educational experience, perfect for children and adults alike. All proceeds go towards the non-profit Turtle Conservation Centre.

A South African grillroom, ROOI offers a menu sourced from both land and sea, transformed by fire, with a touch of local South African flavours and traditions.
ROOI is the Afrikaans word for ‘red’ (one of the twelve official languages of South Africa) and is a colour traditionally associated with power, vitality, life and fire. The theme of fire is prevalent throughout the space, even in the chosen floral motif, a pincushion protea. Proteas are known as the phoenix of the floral kingdom, due to their reliance on fire to stimulate regrowth and like the Protea, ROOI too harnesses the transformative power of fire.
An elegant contemporary space, the setting brings the outside world in with the inclusion of seven living trees and ‘horned’ seats (a nod towards Ankole cattle known for their long horns) to the design scape.

Situated within the world renowned and beautiful Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger Park – Simbavati Hilltop Lodge guarantees an exclusive, authentic and unforgettable African Safari experience. Accommodation is a pure African safari experience and comprises of individual pavilion-style luxury tents, arranged to create a unique village feel. Each suite comprises two individual tents – one for the main bedroom, and a separate bathroom, which is linked by a passage that can be opened up on one side – allowing for an indoor or private outdoor shower experience. Privacy is guaranteed thanks to the careful placement of the tented-suites, ensuring a tranquil and intimate stay. Some of the private suites are situated to avail of the breathtaking views and are therefore accessible via steep stairs. 8 luxurious tented rooms offer a choice or King or twin beds. Each suite has glorious views over the bushveld, the dam and the Nhlaralumi River. French doors open out onto an expansive viewing deck, each with its own private sala pavilion with double day bed for an afternoon read or snooze.
The en-suite bathroom tent is connected to the bedroom tent via a small passage. On the deck is a double ’rain’ shower with views over the dam.

Game Drives
Game drives take place in the early morning and late afternoon when the animals are naturally most active. Key to the experience are your English-speaking local guide, working with a tracker from the local Shangaan community. This duo pool their knowledge, experience and fresh observations to maximise your wildlife sightings. Not only in terms of how much you see. But how rewarding, informative and fun the overall experience is. Your guide is often a keen photographer and will be conscious and considerate if your mission is to capture sightings on camera. Game drives are limited to a maximum of 6 guests, ensuring an exclusive experience, at Simbavati Hilltop Lodge.
Boma & Campfire dining
Several times a week, dinner in the camps is a more hearty, campfire style meal served under the stars in a ‘boma’, a circular enclosure originally made from branches. The cosy, lantern-lit ambience recalls the early days of safari pioneers.
Another authentic safari experience is dining out under the star in a boma (an enclosed circular dining area) around the campfire. This usually takes place every 2nd night.
The gentle flicker of lanterns, candle-light and a welcoming open fire truly conjures up what is magical about a safari.
