Uroa is a quiet and little fishing village on the east coast of Zanzibar. Local people live traditionally fishing (there's also a fish market on the beach; it's very folkloristic to see the fish auction!) and seaweed harvesting (usually used for cosmetics).
This coast is affected by the phenomenon of the tides (not to be missed!) and does not enjoy the beautiful sunsets that this island gives (strictly in the north-west of the isle); anyhow the wide, white and sandy beach is one of the most beautiful of the isle. Guests can have nice promenades during the low tide or do jogging too.
Our Resort offers to its guests a private beach with typical sunshades and sunbeds, just next to the Bar Pwani to relax in the sunshine with something cold to drink.
Uroa Bay Beach Resort offers the chance to its guests to take care of their body, also during the holidays!
Our little Wellness Centre offers full-body massages, face and beauty treatments; guests can choose to have their treatment in the Wellness Centre or in the cosy makuti on the beach.

Zanzibar is reputed to have some of the best diving in the world, and the coral reef structures that surround Unguja and Pemba ensure that the marine life is abundant. Good visibility (20 - 60 metres) and a year-round average water temperature of 27c ensure that you enjoy your Zanzibar diving experience, and also present an ideal opportunity for learning to dive or upgrading your diving qualification.
There are several dive centres on the island including Zanzibar Watersports and most run courses using the international PADI system of diver education. This way, the certification you gain in Zanzibar can be used anywhere in the world.
Diving in Zanzibar isn't restricted to beginners. Experienced scuba divers can enjoy exciting wall dives, night dives and drift dives. In deeper waters, lush coral gardens often stretch as far as the eye can see, and large gamefish (barracuda, kingfish, tuna and wahoo) hunt together with large Napoleonic wrasse, graceful manta rays and sharks. Shallower waters are the playground of tropical fish, including a huge variety of Indo-Pacific marine fauna.
