Our Mission

Ele-Collection is a plastic recovery company based in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. We remove plastic waste from natural environments to protect wildlife, restore ecosystems, and support local communities. Through Plazrok technology, the first process of its kind in Africa, collected plastic is transformed into durable construction aggregate, replacing stone and sand in concrete, and locking plastic away for good.

Our Impact

Our contribution funded the recovery of 9.5 tonnes of plastic from the environmentally sensitive areas surrounding Victoria Falls — collected at a rate of $1,000 per tonne. That is the equivalent of 950,000 plastic bottles (based on a standard 500ml PET bottle weight of 10g) and 1,266,667 plastic bags (based on an average bag weight of 7.5g) — items that would otherwise have remained in waterways, wildlife habitats, and the city dump. Plastic that isn’t collected is typically burned in the open dump. Research by GAIA and the Center for International Environmental Law (2019) puts the CO2 released from open plastic burning at 2.9 tonnes per tonne burned. By recovering 9.5 tonnes, Bayete Collection prevented the equivalent of 27.55 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere — the same amount it would take 459 urban trees ten years to sequester (US EPA). That plastic was collected by their women-led teams, generating 158 paid working days of direct employment — based on an average recovery rate of 60kg per collector per day.

The Pristine Victoria Falls Society (PVFS) is a community-based movement set up in October 2021 with one very clear objective:

Our Impact

As custodians of one of the World’s Seven Natural Wonders in a World Heritage site of high ecological sensitivity, there can be few communities that have a greater incentive for creating a litter-free and sustainable environment.  Not only is it a moral obligation but, for the majority of residents of Victoria Falls whose livelihoods are dependent on tourism, it is a commercial imperative.

Realising that the problem of rubbish will not be solved by applying the usual tools or relying on the same individuals and organisations to unilaterally provide the solution, PVFS has a broader, collective and collaborative approach from all organisations and individuals that, not only addresses the symptoms, but also attempts to treat the root causes of littering before it hits the streets of our City.

Bakwena Lodge is an intimate, privately citizen owned boutique lodge on the banks of the Chobe River offering a fully inclusive safari experience in an area which hosts a huge variety of bird species and some of the finest game viewing to be had worldwide.

13 Standard Chalets (Riverine & Treetop), 1 Family Room and 1 Honeymoon Suite are all designed and decorated in a manner befitting their environment and offering a cool and comfortable escape.

Bakwena Lodge's eco-credentials include a natural swimming pool filtered entirely by plants, employment policies, food choices, building methods and otherwise unseen ways in which any negatives to the lodge surroundings or environment are addressed.

Activities, all based in-house and facilitated by their hand picked professional guides, are naturally focused on land and water safaris in the comfort of their game drive vehicles and boats. Other activities on offer include a guided Village Walk/Bicycle Tour and a boat cruise to the meeting place of four countries (the only one in the world!).

A full day activity to experience the magic of the Falls in neighbouring Zimbabwe. You will be transported from the lodge to the entrance of the National Park for a tour of the Falls at your own leisure. You will then be collected and transported to lunch, into town, to the local markets or for a spot of shopping, as you wish. Please note that although we will happily make suggestions this is an unguided activity and excludes Victoria Falls Park fees, Zimbabwe Visa fees (USD$ cash only for Visa fees) and lunch and the transfer may be shared with other guests).

There are boat cruises then there are Chobe cruises. Exquisite and beyond comparison, the Chobe river boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the planet. Dry season brings a game viewing bonanza well capitalised on by the resident Lion prides.

Our guides currently have the option of three boats to showcase the river experience to our guests. Without a doubt the most sedate game viewing experience to be had in Botswana. Slow down and smell the wild sage at Moremi Crossing Camp. Whether stealthily tracking wildlife on foot or silently moving through the Okavango Delta's waterways on a mokoro, time slows down in the Gunn's Private Concession. With its location across from the famous Chief's Island, this traditional walking and water-based camp now offers game drives. Moremi Crossing is also an excellent option for big groups.

Seasonal game drives provide front-row seats to the wildlife, but with an abundance of postcard-perfect lagoons and floodplains, nature walks, and water-based explorations are the Moremi Crossing forte. Stretch your legs on a guided nature walk that transforms your safari into a sensory experience. You'll learn to track, understand medicinal plant uses and so much more by roaming between lofty termite mounds to gain perspective over the landscape (much like a cheetah). Single twin or king size double beds, open hanging space for clothes, writing desk, bug / insect repellents are provided. All rooms are elevated on wooden platforms with a small private viewing deck and magical views over the Boro River and Chief’s Island.

En-suite, outdoor shower heated by solar power, separate flushing toilet, hot and cold-water supply.

Family unit includes en-suite double bedroom, separate second twin bedroom, each have their own en-suite bathrooms. Minimum age is six years. Families travelling with children aged 6–12 years are required to book private activities. Children under 12 years are not permitted on mokoro trips or guided walks.

With the Khwai River forming a natural border between the world famous Moremi Game Reserve and Khwai Concession, animals can travel freely through this vast unfenced wilderness. Situated on the river overlooking the Moremi and with access to both these magnificent wildlife areas, Sango Safari Camp is focused on delivering an exceptional wildlife experience to our guests. The camp’s location allows guests to take advantage of a host of wildlife activities which include open vehicle game drives both in the Moremi and in the Khwai concession area, night drives and mokoro trips.

Accommodating a maximum of 12 guests in six en-suite meru tents, Sango Safari Camp is designed in the style of the classic tented safari camp of days gone by. With its open-air showers, hand crafted furnishings and classic styling Sango Safari Camp aims to rekindle the atmosphere of the luxury mobile safari camp, successfully blending the rustic with the luxurious. Each tent has a unique view on the Khwai River, which forms a natural border between the Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Concession. While sitting on the veranda wildlife can be easily spotted. During the night the sounds of the Bush will carry you to sleep.
