Our Chalets offer high comfort with the feel and look of the traditional Farmstead located in the African wilderness. Polished floors, exposed wooden beams and weathered furniture capture this rustic charm. Located high on the edge of a rocky ridge the chalets provide an amazing view over the floodplains of the famous Chobe River.
All Chalets have been built from the same Red Kalahari Sand that dominates the northern part of Botswana. The walls are made out of sandbags which serve as a great natural insulation barrier and keep the rooms cool during hot days and warm during cold nights. All the construction timber and furniture is manufactured from renewable wood sources or from reclaimed wood. To heat water we are using the sun’s energy. Our goal is to keep the carbon footprint as small as possible, while at the same time never compromising guest comfort.
With 14 twin rooms and 2 family suites, Chobe Elephant Camp can comfortably accommodate 36 guests. All rooms are en-suite with both indoor and outdoor showers. The whole lodge has been designed to take advantage of the spectacular views over the Chobe River, so whether you choose to relax on your private veranda, read a book in the lounge, have a drink at the bar or cool off in the pool, the vista will always be there to enjoy.

Wilderness Pelo | Okavango Delta
The word pelo means ‘heart’ – a fitting name as, from the air, the island on which Pelo Camp is situated is heart-shaped. It is also found pretty much as deep into the heart of the Okavango Delta as it is possible to be. This intimate camp has five spacious, en-suite tents with both indoor and outdoor showers and a covered front veranda from which to look out over the water. The main area comprises a tented dining area and lounge situated under impressive wild date palms, jackalberry and Natal mahogany trees. There is also an outdoor boma area, a swimming pool and a raised platform built onto an old anthill. Given the camp’s situation on an exquisite, small island surrounded by permanent water, activities focus on mokoro (traditional dug-out canoe) excursions in the open, shallow floodplains as well as boating and walking. Note: Pelo is open 1 March to 30 November.
