The Kohinoor Suite, much like its namesake, is one of a kind. As the grandest suite at The Oberoi, New Delhi, it has hosted Heads of States and many other dignitaries from across the world. Located high above the tree line, on the 7th floor of the hotel, and spread over 3,600 square feet, the suite comprises a living room, dining room with a service pantry, a fully-equipped study, master bedroom, a private living room and a relaxation room furnished with a treadmill and a massage bed. While a luxurious bathroom is adjacent to the private living and relaxation rooms, a guest powder room is located off the living area. To ensure the safety of the residents, up-to-date security features have been installed. The special Executive Suite and Luxury Room, adjacent to the Kohinoor Suite, provide suitable accommodation for additional members of the family, security personnel or personal assistants. The formal entry hall of the suite, perfectly frames an eclectic display of a series of Shivalingas (a representation of Lord Shiva, the Destroyer in the India Trinity) in black granite and, beyond these, a life-size bronze of a woman languidly seated on a delicate chair, magnificently crafted by the Indian sculptor, Dimpy Menon. The rooms within the Kohinoor Suite flow one into the other and are separated by floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, which, once shut, accord complete privacy. The layout of the suite allows for the private spaces to be segregated seamlessly from the public areas.

Our Duplex Suite is spread over two floors and has an interconnecting twin bedroom option. On entering, a carpeted wooden staircase leads up to a bright lounge with an attached dining room, a powder room and a pantry. Downstairs, a bright lounge room and a work space adjoin the master bedroom and bathroom. This suite is designed to exceed guests' expectations. It is fitted with five sets of telephones, three 40" LCD televisions, three DVD players and a pantry with a refrigerator. In the red granite bathroom, guests will find a full length bathtub, a fitted shower with multi pressure water settings, a WC and a bidet.

Each of the four Luxury Suites has a different theme. "Lutyens" reflects English colonial style. "Kipling" is reminiscent of ancient monuments. "Jai Singh" evokes princely Rajasthan and "Corbett", India's native flora and fauna. They are impeccably stylish, functional and supremely luxurious.

Guests walk into their suite on teak floorboards that evoke olde worlde ambience and charm. The walls are hung with ancient lithographs, sepia photographs, antique and modern art that reflects the themes of the rooms. Glass handi lights, shaped like traditional water pots, cast soft light from the ceiling. In the bathroom, red granite steps lead into a full length, sunken enamel bathtub. A separate shower seems carved out of red granite walls and large mirrors sparkle with spotlights. Spread across a spacious 800 square feet (75 square metres), the Deluxe Suite affords guests uninterrupted views across New Delhi. Over a glass of wine from the personal bar, guests can enjoy views of the city's parks and Mughal domes, sit back on the sofa with a newspaper or catch up on work at the elegant wooden writing desk. Panelled with wood flooring and elegantly decorated with indoor palms in ornate, hand painted, ceramic pots, the Deluxe Suites are also exquisitely furnished with uniquely carved chairs inlaid with traditional camel bone designs, while the walls are hung with modern art and antique paintings. The centrepiece of the red granite bathroom is a large mirror framed with exquisite, traditional, blue stained wood and camel bone. Our Executive Suites command spectacular views over the prestigious Delhi Golf Course, the hotel's azure swimming pool and verdant garden. Conservation efforts at Banjaar Tola start from the ground up; each suite is set on raised structures, supporting the tent at only seven points on the ground, allowing natural growth and drainage under all the buildings. Instead of conventional electrical units, the tents are designed with double layers of canvas with insulation materials and air gaps to keep them cool.
