SOSSUSVLEI EXCURSION
• Drive to the Sossusvlei dunes in a safari 4x4 vehicle accompanied by a Guide with in-depth knowledge of the area
• Departure seasonally, depending on national park opening hours. Activity is possible in the early morning or afternoon ( in the morning preferably for photography – departing before sunrise. In the afternoon preferably for experiencing the dunes more in private, fewer visitors will be there)

The staff at Desert Homestead Lodge and Desert Homestead Outpost will be happy to organize all activities of other providers in the area.
An employee of the lodges informs the guests in detail about the start and departure times, depending on the season, as well as about meeting points, equipment, clothes etc. of the activities of the next day during the dinner.
For participation in afternoon activities, check-in is necessary until 2 pm. In the case of a later arrival, it is not possible to guarantee a performance or attendance due to the different start times.

EXPERIENCE THE NAMIB

DESERT ON HORSEBACK

For the more adventurous of spirit, Desert Homestead Lodge offers a unique experience where guests can ride out onto the private reserve and sleep out in nature. The reserve is situated in between the majestic red sand sea of the Namib Desert and the rugged Naukluft mountains.

Leaving the stables and lodge behind, an unforgettable journey set off through wide open plains riding over a varied terrain changing from soft, sandy, stretched open fields, to rockier mountain trails, through dry riverbeds, under social weavers nests and around camelthorn trees.

The experienced guide will eagerly tell more about the environment, fauna and flora. Riders are almost guaranteed to come across a herd or two of grazing Oryx, springbok, or Zebra and some varieties of smaller carnivores, such as Jackal and bat-eared foxes.

Riding takes place at a comfortable pace so that everyone feels comfortable. Slower riders can hang back while more experienced riders go for long stretched-out gallops over grassy plains while winding the way towards the tented Camp, where refreshments await for a truly remarkable sundowner with magnificent views. After watching the sunset over the majestic mountains it’s time to kick off the boots, relax and enjoy the Namibian night skies. While Dinner gets ready on the campfire true Namibian style a refreshing shower awaits.

Dinner is served next to the crackling fire whilst conversation is sure to revert to the days riding. Then it’s time to retire to the comfortable tent or even a stretcher outside, for those who prefer to sleep out in nature under starry skies to get some rest before the next day’s riding.

Riders will wake up the next morning to the smell of coffee brewing and bacon and eggs cooking over an open fire while watching the horses being prepared for the next stretch of riding. After a hearty breakfast, it is time to stretch the legs once again and set off on horses who eagerly await the rest of the adventure.

Swakopmund Luxury Suites offers stylish and modern accommodation situated in the heart of Swakompund. The accommodation is provided in light and airy rooms, all comfortably furnished. Crisp white interior and earthy elements, high quality bedding and stylish en-suite bathrooms define the rooms. Vingerklip Lodge nestles in a valley, near the rock formation from which it derives it's name. The 35m high pillar of sedimentary rock, the Vingerklip, (Finger Rock) is one of the most impressive rock formations in Namibia. It stands proudly above a valley, known as the Ugab terraces, on the way from Swakopmund to the Etosha National Park on the edge of the Damaraland. Unwind and relax at one of the two pools, go for nature walks or spot the animals from your private veranda. At Vingerklip Lodge there are 11 well-appointed, thatched bungalows, each housing two units. 11 of the 22 rooms are suitable for family-style holidays, with loft accommodation for two children. The lodge’s hallmarks are luxury and plenty of privacy. This remarkable place is superbly suited for safari excursions into Etosha. The main building is surrounded by large, ancient mopane trees in a wild, but park-like setting. Upon entering the lobby with the bar and spacious seating areas, the eye is drawn through the open building to the vast savannah, where often enough the first animals can be spotted right then. The large infinity pool also offers fantastic views of the open plain in front of the lodge and the two waterholes. The best spot to enjoy the sunset with a drink of your choice. After that we will treat you to a delicious 5-course dinner in our restaurant.

Our spacious chalets have been integrated into nature with loving care. They are placed so far apart and aligned so cleverly, that there is no sign of a neighbor. Etosha Oberland is conveniently situated a 10km drive from the Andersson Gate, south of Etosha National Park – a good starting point for excursions in the Park with exciting game viewing experiences.

Boat Cruise Game Drive Mahangu National Game Park Fishing Trip & a Cultural Village Tour Full Day Game Drive & Scenic Experience. to Okavango Delta - Heliflip

Take boat trips along the border of the Caprivi National Game Park, where you can see hippo, elephant, buffalo, crocodile and birds which include the White backed Night Heron and possibly the Pels Fishing Owl.

Enjoy a full game drive into the Buffalo Game Park where you have a chance to see bigger herds of buffalo, breeding herds of elephant and the Sharp Tailed Starling.

We can also take you to the Mahangu National Game Park where you could see, Sable Antelope, Roan Antelope, Letchwe, Reed Buck, Tsessebe, Elephant, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard

We also offer fishing trips where you have a very good chance of catching Tiger fish, Barbel and Nembwe. If you want to stretch your legs you could join one of the local guides to take you on a 2 hour village tour where you can see how the Hambakushu people live everyday. Join us at a cultural tour to the local Kamutjonga village. Meet the traditional people and learn more about the Kavango culture.

This is a Full day combination of heli-flip, game drive and boat cruise with a picnic lunch thrown in, over the northern Delta.
The drive from Ndhovu Safari Lodge to Sepupa, where the Okavango Panhandle Heliport is located is about 95kms / 2 hours, including the border crossings.
For clients not wanting to take their vehicles into Botswana, the lodge can arrange for transfers (at an additional cost).
Clients need to arrive at the Heliport at 08:45 for a 09:00 departure.
From The Heliport, clients are taken on a heli-flip to Jumbo Junction, where they depart on a boat cruise.
The deep waters around Jumbo Junction mean that this is a year-round water-based activity.
At the end of the boat cruise, clients are dropped off at the game drive vehicle, where they will then have the opportunity for guided land-based game viewing.

Around 15:00 the helicopter lands next to the game viewer to fly clients back to the Heliport.
There is also the option for an additional 30 minute 'doors off' helicopter flight from Jumbo Junction, before heading to The Heliport. (at an additional cost).

Lianshulu Lodge is located within Namibia’s Mudumu National Park, offering guests a tranquil retreat along the Kwando River. Elegant luxury rooms with Queen size bed, en-suite bathroom, air conditioner, tea and coffee station as well as a DSTV hotel package. Each elegant chalet has parking for a vehicle, and these chalets are within easy walking distance of the main lodge building.

Each house is beautifully decorated in warm African style including an open plan kitchen that provides everything needed to cook up a dish, even an outside open fireplace will help you feel at home.

The main bedroom has a double bed, mosquito net and air conditioner, whilst the second bedroom has two single beds and a ceiling fan.

10 Private campsites covered with clean river sand, each with its own washing area, water & fireplace. A well-planned ablution with warm water and seperate facilities for men & women is also available. All the campsites can be reached by a normal vehicle.

After a hard day's adventuring, relax with a massage, either in the dedicated spa and wellness centre or in the privacy of your room.

Experience the culture and history of the Herero tribe. The Otjiwa guide will transfer you to the village, where the local guide will take you through the history and evolution of their culture, including dress and architecture. Enjoy lunch before returning to the lodge
