The Sand River boasts an impressive variety of fish species, with over 37 different types inhabiting its waters. Among the most commonly encountered species are the Sharp-tooth Catfish (Barbel), Mozambique Tilapia (Bream), Squeakers, Tigerfish, Smallmouth Yellowfish, and Mudfish.

Apart from the sheer relaxation of fishing, it offers a splendid way to immerse oneself in the natural surroundings.
