Located on the wonderful white beaches of Zanzibar’s east coast, Anna of Zanzibar offers you elaborate colonial simplicity, combined with the privacy, luxury and amenities of a five star boutique hotel. The main guest area - built in Zanzibari style and artfully decorated with traditional carvings and ornaments - includes a bar, lounge, library, dining room and grand verandah that overlooks the pool and the ocean.
All areas are furnished in elaborate colonial simplicity, creating a comfortable, yet luxurious atmosphere. Enjoy a sundowner in one of our traditional plantation chairs on the verandah or, after dinner, relax to the exotic sounds of old Tarab music at the Sultan-style bar in the center of our main house. Dining outside on a balmy, tropical night is a truly special treat.
All four of the luxury villas are situated in the tropical garden with views directly onto the Indian Ocean. Each suite includes a separate lounge area, a bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. The rooms are furnished in a luxurious fusion of colonial and original Zanzibari style and have private terraces overlooking the ocean. Full room service is provided on request and each suite is equipped with the amenities suited to five-star luxury, including a mini bar with a wine cooler, tea and coffee-making facilities, an individual room safe, a hairdryer and wireless internet connectivity. The Master bedrooms are equipped with air-condition and ceiling vans.
Lunches are a sumptuous mixture of flavours served on the verandah or, if you wish, by the seaside. Alternatively, enjoy a seafood barbeque on the beach, offering the catch of the day from the very ocean lapping at your feet.
Anna of Zanzibar, in conjunction with Buccaneer Diving Centre, offers access to some of the finest scuba diving sites in Zanzibar. The reefs on the south-east coast include soft and hard corals, sponges and anemones in abundance and you will be amazed by the sheer variety of fish species to be viewed in these waters. The dive centre is located only 10 minutes away and complimentary transfers are provided free of charge. Those reliable winds that allowed for successful seafaring and trading in a bygone era, now make for perfect kite surfing conditions on the island. Together with a European kite surfing school, both equipment and training lessons for novices and experienced kite surfers can be organised.
