The lodge is located on an 8,000 hectare cattle ranch. Simple and comfortable, it has been designed to be in harmony with the landscape and farm lifestyle.  The wildlife around the lodge is excellent with the entrance track used by brocket deer, crab-eating fox and South American coati to name just a few mammals to be seen in this area.  Around the lodge are secluded water hollows and open grassland.

Each room is en-suite, has a fan (some have air-conditioning) and screened windows for mosquito protection.  Good food with typical regional and Brazilian dishes is served in its restaurant decorated with local artwork.

While Barco Aguapé itself is a comfortable floating lodge, the true highlight of staying here is its prime location on the Piquiri River—a renowned hotspot for wildlife sightings in this part of the Northern Pantanal.

Each day, you’ll head out in small speedboats to explore the river channels and banks, where jaguars often appear, sometimes hunting or resting in full view. Along the way, you’ll also encounter Giant River Otters, Capybaras, Caiman, countless bird species, and other wildlife that thrive in these remote waters.

The Piuval Lodge is located 110 km from Cuiabá and 10 km from Poconé in the state of Mato Grosso. It is the first lodge along the Transpantaneira Highway, which begins in Poconé. The lodge is situated on a 7000-hectare cattle ranch with one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Pantanal. At this lodge tourists can observe the abundance and diversity of Pantanal flora and fauna.
