Our two family suites provide intimate and comfortable accommodations for the entire family. Nestled amidst bird calls, the private veranda offers breathtaking valley views, ideal for spotting the Big 5. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors seamlessly blend the Red-Ivory forest surroundings with the interior, creating a immersive nature experience.
The main bedroom features a king bed and opens into a separate air-conditioned twin room for children. A spacious bathroom, shared between the rooms, includes a double vanity and large indoor & outdoor showers. Both rooms are equipped with air-conditioners and overhead fans for comfort, along with amenities such as a mini bar, tea & coffee facilities, a safe, and hair dryers, ensuring a complete suite experience.

All six luxury suites offer a large open plan bedroom (king or twin), which opens onto a secluded veranda raised above valley floor allowing Nyala to graze below. A bush walk offers a truly immersive experience, being on foot in a Big 5 reserve without the protection of a car. A guided bush walk gives you the opportunity to learn about tracks, flowers, insects and the smaller things you miss being on a vehicle.
Being able to smell and touch what is at your feet with possibility of observing wildlife to a very short distance. The thrill of not knowing what is around the next bend and surrounding yourself in nature is something we highly recommend.
Not just for photographers, the Twinspot Hide is an incredible experience for anyone who loves wildlife and wants to see the African bush from a different perspective.
Situated at ground level, the hide places you at eye level with the water, offering an intimate and unobtrusive view of wildlife as they come to drink, cool off and spend time at the pan. From this unique vantage point, guests can watch animals quietly going about their natural behaviour, often at remarkably close range.
Zebra, warthog, buffalo and elephant are regular visitors, while the pan also attracts a wonderful variety of birdlife and other game. Whether you are an avid photographer, a keen birder or simply enjoy being close to nature, time spent in the Twinspot Hide offers a peaceful and memorable wildlife experience.

The Munyawana Conservancy is home to one of the largest privately protected rhino populations in the world. Protecting these magnificent animals is a responsibility we take incredibly seriously, with extensive conservation efforts dedicated to safeguarding them from the ongoing threat of poaching.
As part of this protection strategy, rhino dehorning is undertaken as a proactive anti-poaching measure. By carefully removing the horn under strict veterinary supervision, the aim is to reduce the incentive for poachers to target these animals while ensuring the rhinos remain healthy and well cared for.
It is a powerful reminder of the realities of rhino conservation and the lengths that are taken to protect these iconic animals for generations to come.

At Sungulwane, dining is an experience in itself. From relaxed breakfasts overlooking the bush to dinners beneath the stars, every meal is thoughtfully prepared and served with the warmth and personal hospitality that defines a stay at the lodge.
Enjoy meals in our welcoming dining area, gather around the fire for a fireside feast, or experience a traditional South African braai in our lantern-lit boma beneath the African night sky. Private bush dinners and special celebrations can also be arranged.
Our kitchen takes pride in fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented food, with menus showcasing the best of South African produce. Our chefs prepare a combination of à la carte and family-style meals, with fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers and herbs from our garden.
Mornings begin with seasonal fruit, homemade muesli, freshly baked croissants, cheeses and cold meats, alongside a delicious cooked breakfast special prepared each day.
Lunch is relaxed and generous, while High Tea is a much-loved Sungulwane tradition, featuring freshly baked cakes, sweet treats, homemade chocolates and refreshing iced drinks.
Dinner brings beautifully prepared three-course meals, complemented by a carefully selected range of South African wines. We accommodate dietary requirements and individual preferences, ensuring every guest can enjoy the full Sungulwane dining experience.
